If you are 5'2'' and 100 lbs this rocking chair may fit you. It is in no-way an adult sized chair. Despite what the specifications say, the seating area is 15.5 inches by 17.5 inches, a very small seating area for any adult. This chair would be useful for children from 6 to 14. If you are looking for an Adult-sized rocking chair, you should look elsewhere.

In addition to the inadequacy of the chair itself, the shipping container was cheap and had many punctures (that had been sealed with tape). Because of these openings, the seat was scratched and the assembly screws were missing. All in all, this is a product to stay away from, unless you are buying for a child/teenager.

This is the first experience I have had with AMAZON products being much less than described. I guess you get what you pay for.

This item was not as described. True, an adult of minimal porportions can indeed fit in this rocker which is about 15" off the floor. Further the rockers are SHORT and turned inward at the back preventing all but the most minimal rocking. As you go forward you to slide out of the chair. Poor, poor excuse for a rocker unless, perhaps, you are under 5' and very slight of body. Very, very disappointing. I will be going out to a store today to purchase a REAL rocker.

I received this chair in a timely manner but it had not been properly packaged and had several large gouges in the seat when it arrived. I sent it back.

This rocking chair is SMALL! I am 5'4" and my husband is 5'6" and we are petite people. This chair looks good but is HORRIBLE as a comfortable place to nurse a child, read story time books, or anything else other than decoration. Don't even bother with this chair if you aren't going to buy a pad. In fact, so buy this chair at ALL! I wasn't happy with their white corner bookshelf and they have let me down AGAIN!

This rocking chair is not meant for adults or at least average size adult. I purchased this for my dad. He is 5'7 about 150lbs. He doesn't fit in the chair. He says its too snug; the the arm rail started to come off on the day he got the gift. Easy to assemble. but this thing is cheaply made. Good for kids or junior kids but definitely not adult. You sit and your back is erect.

I'm writing to you on behalf of my wife, who very recently bought this rocking chair from you.

The chair was properly assembled last week by my father-in-law. After being discharged from the hospital where she gave birth last Friday, my wife sat on the chair last night (about 2am on Jan. 25th 2012) nursing our new born baby. The chair suddenly collapsed under her as at least one leg broke. Injured on her back from the fall and on the incision from her c-section, my wife was fortunately able to hold on to the baby, but unable to move or get up, when I found her in the nursery. Her fall also led to internal bleeding and an opening of her incision.

Given her normal post partem weight and her height of 5 ft 7 as well as the fact that the chair was properly assembled and new, this is a case of severe product failure, leading to a severe accident and health risks for all other consumers.

I therefore urge you to immediately notify all of your customers who have bought this chair about respective risks and take this chair off the market. Following the advice of your customer service center in the Philippines (Ms. Mayelle G. - as per your policy she only disclosed the first initial of her last name), I'm sending you this note via your website/my wife's customer account. My several attempts to get Ms. Mayelle G. to provide me with an email address in order to send my complaint and photo evidence to you were unsuccessful. From an email she sent to me about 60 mins ago, I understand that your "Executive Customer Relations Customer Service Team" will provide me with a proper point of contact within the coming 22-46 hours to file the complaint and provide photo evidence.

If you fail to live up to this promise, offer appropriate compensation, inform your customers and take the chair of the market, as requested above, we will hand this case over to an attorney. We will also file complaints with the Federal Trade Commission and the California Department of Consumer Affairs.

As a traditional style rocking chair it fits the bill. unfortunately its made in vietnam using sub standard materials and work practices. Packaging was horrible, there was nothing in there, just the chair. The box arrived appropriately crumpled by the long arduous ground shipping journey. upon receipt we noted that the rocking arms of the chair had damaged the finish on the seat because of how it was packed and some of the wood was fractured, which subsequently lead to the complete failure on one side when my 3 year old sat in it and started rocking.

very stiff and straight backed chair, and very casual rocking motion, nothing like other solid wood rocking chairs we have sat in at our local hardware store. yeah. and its pretty small.

Edit: Amazon.com's return policy as confusing sometimes as it could be, was a very simple and manageable process. I even spoke with a representative online who was very clear with the process. I received a full refund, and the cost of shipping was free to me to send it back. The refund was applied the day they received it. A+ to amazon.com for the continued commitment to their customers. I wish i could rate this product with huge negative stars, it really is not worth it, and maybe if I read the comments more often as much as I leave comments I wouldn't have bought it in the first place.

After using the chair for about a week, it completely collapsed and broke under a normal person's weight! Buyer beware!

I concur with most of the reviews here. The chair was too small for an adult. It was cheaply made. The arm was coming unglued from the back.

We decided to return the chair. The company has unreal expectations for returns. We had to get a return slip printed out from the company. They are charging a 40% restocking fee, and the return posatage is on us. In addition, they wanted the chair packed exactly as it come to us. I considered punching a few more holes in the flimsy carton.

I wish I had known the return policy before ordering. It appears that the compnay does not care for the goodwill of customers, and they are making their money not from the products, but from the restocking fees. How much trouble is there in putting a box back on a shelf. Or, perhaps, the 40% is for the junk pick up fee.

Amazon should discontinue its affiliation with Gift Mark.

My mom is a short person, so her feet do not always touch the floor when she sets in a chair. This was the perfect size for her!
