A fantastic resource for hundreds of "I never knew that was out there" gift ideas. The book is well organized into 30 chapters with gift ideas for teens, parents, kids, bosses, gay, mom to be, etc. Each suggestion is followed by a short description and a web site address. Every web site I went to was easy to find and easy to navigate (no "under construction" messages!)

Who knew you could buy a customized Rubik's cube with your photos on each side, Nesting dolls with your family painted on them, a tonsillectomy survivor kit, a bowling ball with Hello Kitty on it or a Jello shot kit. I certainly never knew these things were out there! There are dozens of "...of the month" ideas and lots of resources for customized items.

At best you'll find something that will leave everyone thinking you are a clever and imaginative gift giver. At worst you'll get a good laugh out of some of the ideas.

Gifted is a list of "1,000 Gift Ideas for Everyone in Your Life." The book is not a list of ideas or inspiration; rather, it contains specific product descriptions and websites where such items can be purchased. For anyone looking for a "unique" or offbeat gift idea, and directions on how to obtain it, this book is invaluable. Dozens of chapters focus on parents, siblings, children of different ages, gay men, co-workers, professional relationships, religious gifts, gifts for life events, and more.

The book is overly large for the amount of text--with some better formatting and paper, it could have been half the thickness. Since it contains webstore products, there is a risk of items (or entire stores) being discontinued. The information presented herein, in fact, would be better suited to an electronic document with hyperlinks, but I'm not sure I would have paid the cover charge (book price) to get to a list of gift ideas on the web. As it is, this book is a perfect item to check out from the library at the holiday time or when you are in a pinch for good ideas.

Interesting. . . not mind-boggling. Anyone who subscribes to magazines other than National Geographic probably has a lot of this information already. I'm guessing you could Google any gift idea and get more website suggetions than you could handle. . . maybe that's the problem? Anyway, I don't think you'll get unbelievably new ideas from this book.

I have been looking for a book like this for years. This is a great resource for Holiday shopping - or just general gift giving. It is very well organized and very creative. I just ordered three more!

This is such a great resource! In much the same way that zagat's is THE guide for restaurants and leonard Maltin is THE guide for movies, I expect Sarah Weidman's book "Gifted" to become the definitive reference for gift giving. For those of you who have friends or relatives that are impossible to shop for, this book is for you!! The book is divided by various personality types and the author gives gift suggestions (including links to websites) for each type. I'm so relieved that this year's christmas shopping will be that much easier this year because of "Gifted".

I found the book to be generous with ideas for many categories of people. Some were as stated pricey but the ideas were good and if the mind wanders led to other things. I think it will keep for a number of years with updates in the future. I used it for Christmas but will retain and refer to it throughout the year for different occassions. Worth buying.

This has some great gift ideas for everyone on your list. It lists web addresses, phone numbers and great contacts.

I live outside the US and am frequently at a loss about what to send friends and relatives in North America as gifts. This really solved the problem for me - I can order a huge variety of gifts over the internet - including many bright ideas I'd never have thought of. Highly recommended.

This is a great book full of ideas for gifts. It's also a huge source for where to purchase the items.
