5.0 out of 5 stars Duvall, Inc.. can't go wrong, June 10, 2009
This review is from: Gifts (Duvall Inc.) (Paperback)
Gifts follows Wishbound (Wishes & Glamour) through the adventure of Janey an assassin and Marsh a Djinn. The books starts out with Janey getting an inquiry about a hit.. a hit on her Djinn by a very angry lady. Janey and Marsh heading to the Citadel, his parents home in Austria. With the offer of the hit still on the table, she finds out that it is from a Jenai. During the trip, Janey finds out some secrets that Marsh has been keeping from her. As the days go by, Janey cancels out the hit but killing her client and also winning the right to be at Marsh's side. At the same time, her trusted friend Kolo goes missing which now her father figure, Trent gets involved.

With Janey is a delicate condition, Trent and Marsh go to Africa to find Kolo and kill the fallen that has possibly captured and tortured Kolo. To do so, Marsh has to call on the vampire Malcolm for a secret weapon.

I love this series. It just gets better and better as it progresses. I can't wait to see what the Price Sisters has in store for Janey and Marsh.

5.0 out of 5 stars Janey and Marsh are full of surprises!, February 21, 2009
This review is from: Gifts (Duvall Inc.) (Paperback)
"Gifts" follows Marsh and Janey [from "Wishbound"] through the holidays, both human and Djinn. Sounds lovely, right? No, these two don't do lovely!

After accepting a contract I never expected her to do, Janey and Marsh head off to Austria where she meets his family for the first time. There is no way to describe the djinn's parents other than to be polite and say odd. Dad is, well, horn dog doesn't do him justice and Mom has her own issues - and you won't be able to do anything other than laugh and sigh with relief that they aren't yours.

On page 149 I was seriously surprised [hence remembering the page number] and I couldn't put the book down until I knew what happened in Africa. Yes, Marsh heads south, leaving his woman - a contract killer - alone with his unique parents. Good idea? You'll have to read it and find out!

And, as if that wasn't enough, in this book I met the first "unicorn" I'd like to read more about. This one is not at all like any other out there!

The sister writers are in a class all their own. They create stories that don't fit within a box, something I specifically enjoy reading. There's no way to predict which way things are going and as a reader, this definitely kept me engaged and eager for the next installment.
