Heartwarming and Inspiring!, January 31, 2000
This review is from: Gifts of Grace (Love Inspired #80) (Mass Market Paperback)
A wonderful story with a strong heroine and a man who really earns the title 'hero'. It's a 'can't resist' story that has you rooting for the romance but has a believable thread of faith throughout. Just the thing to put you in the perfect holiday mood, even if it's not December! Can't wait for the sequel!

Prince Charming!, December 10, 2011
This review is from: Gifts of Grace (Love Inspired #80) (Mass Market Paperback)
Carl was such a charmer! This was a very, very romantic story!
Okay, so there was this store owner who was informed by the town that he'd been chosen to be the one to go inform the young widow her son has been stealing from all the merchants. But when he got there, he found a helpless widow with two starving children and a sick little girl. He immediately sprang into action, and soon he had a family living in his house and running his life.
And he couldn't be happier!
But there was darkness in Carl's life. Bad things had happened in his past that he couldn't handle, and didn't think a woman should handle...
This was a loving story full of hope, pain, and healing. I loved the way Carl took the ten year old boy under his wing and helped him learn what a real father was like. I liked how he pulled Matt aside and talked to him about fighting so lovingly. It was absolutely wonderful!!!
This is a precious family and very deserving of each other.
The hotel room soon wasn't relaly necessary, but I thought it added so much drama to the story. We saw just how strong they were. True love waits, and besides...it would have been difficult with two other women in the room anyhow! The author could have had them sleeping in the bed with pillows between them or something - not touching...Instead, she did the scene realistically. If the man I loved was in bed with me, I'm sure it would be hard to keep my hands to myself, yet the author wrote the scene so innocently - it was sweet! So realistic, like I said...
Many kudos to the author for leaving me in tears so many times...And it was so sweet the way Carl held her and the way she comforted Carl! Romantic...
I didn't know when I got this book through Interlibrary loan that there is a sequel...Be warned - there is a second book to this series! Now I'll have to wait to see what happens...
