5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book, August 2, 2004
This review is from: Gifts of the Spirit (Paperback)
This is a wonderful book on the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. Harold Horton writes from the depths of his experiences with Howard Carter, who came out of the Pentecostal Revivals of early 1900s. Horton gives an accurate and detailed analysis of 1 Corinthians 12, 13 and 14. There are chapters on each of the gifts of chapter 12. Horton makes no apologies for returning to the true supernatural impact of the Holy Spirit. This is the power of the Spirit at work in the believer today - he gives no weight to man's attempts to make the things of the Spirit into mere human derivatives.
Written in 1934 and republished continuously for 60 years, this is a modern classic. It is refreshing to go back a few generations to be reinspired by some core teaching on one of the essentials foundations of a life of faith.

This review is from: Gifts of the Spirit (Paperback)
This has to be one of the best books on the gifts of the Holy Spirit written by Harold Horton, it thoroughly explains the different gifts, their use, and misuse misunderstanding by individuals, church groups, etc. It is a comprehensive study
which will be of great benefit to the reader, and one can only gain tremendous insight and understanding in their use and relevance for today, I thoroughly recommend the purchase of this book, even if it is second hand, as I see it as a literary
masterpiece to be treasured upon acquisition by the individual.

An excellent resource for teaching. Current teschers have abandoned the classical Pentecostal approach to Systemaric Theology and Pneumatology. I prefer some of the older resources that have not been compromised with the trend to modernism.
