5.0 out of 5 stars I love this tent
This is also my second tent - and we love it. I'll start with my only negative comment: It took us a few tries to get it really set up right. I blame this on very poor directions and our inexperience. However, my husband and I have it down to about 30 minutes to unpack and set up now. It's very spacious - although I bet some people may be upset that a queen size air...

Please read all description carefully before you buy! This seller's information about the product is misleading you. The bedrooms are too small to fit quinn mattress, you can use twin which is too small for two adults.
The colors of the tent were different than on the picture - much darker, I do not like it. The floor was damaged in few spots, it lookes like something sharp was scratching the floor and it gets damaged.
Overall, very disappointing.
I am in the process of returning it

I blame this on very poor directions and our inexperience. However, my husband and I have it down to about 30 minutes to unpack and set up now. It's very spacious - although I bet some people may be upset that a queen size air mattress will NOT fit in either of the side "rooms" although it does fit nicely in the middle room and twin size fits with extra space in the side rooms. My husband is 6'9" tall and he feels like the tent is roomy - and can even stand in the center of the tent. And do not discount the screen porch! That space is wonderful for a couple of chairs, providing shade on a hot summers day. We typically camp in high wind beach areas and the tent is sturdy and has never failed us. With the window shades rolled up the screens provide plenty of ventilation as well. We love this tent - well worth 5 stars.

this is my second tent, my first was a Hilary 3 room tent lasted almost 10 years of camping. this is a great second tent, very spacious, id say 4adults would fit with 4 air-mattresses, 8 without the mattresses just sleeping bags. perfect for three people or three couples who want there privacy. bigger than one might think, i am 5'7 and i hardly need to bend to get in. will take some time to set-up, and dis-assemble, but the out come is well worth it.

Well a storm took out my old tent over memorial day weekend and I had to find a new tent. I liked the fact that this tent has a screened porch, and has plenty of room.

I received the tent and put it up in my front yard to see if the tent is what i wanted.. and this is what i found:

Set up: Set up was easy for the most part. Long poles form the x at the center of tent, Short poles fill all the other sleeves. I like the additional support of the square around the center of the tent. The hubs are attached to the tent and they seem pretty durable. Although I am in the process of ordering 2 extras just in case. The hardest part was putting the fly on the tent once it is set up, I am thinking of attaching the fly before i stand the tent up and see if that helps. I set this tent up alone in about 25 to 30 minutes the 1st time.

Exploration after set up: Looking at the fully set up tent, There were a few things i didn't like. First the outside of the tent: The porch is attached to the fly and stakes down to the ground with no floor. The stake down points for the screen room are only shock cord. The screen does not attach to the sides of the tent so critters and insects are able to come and go as they please. I did however think about buying a roll of Velcro and attaching it to the sides of the screen and the tent to fix that problem but have yet to act on it. So i don't think that this would be a good area to eat in. I plan on only storing my drink cooler and shoes in this area, or a chair to sit in the shade and enjoy the view.

The Inside: My last tent had removable dividers and fully open floor plan. This tent has built in zippers and sewn in dividers. Since the tent is just for me and my girlfriend, I decided to modify the inside which does void any returns. I carefully cut out the sewn in divider on one side to make room for my full size air mattress to fit length wise in the tent. I kept the other room in case i wanted to have a dining area or bathroom in the tent with its own door and divider.

I will add on to this review and have pictures around august 15th 2010 after i get back from my first camping trip with this tent. If anyone has any questions about this tent please don't hesitate to email me at BryanAllor80482@gmail.com

5.0 out of 5 stars Big tent - nice features, September 12, 2009
This review is from: Giga Tent-Kinsman Mt. (Misc.)
This is our first tent, and I am pleased with the purchase. We set it up and took it down twice today, just to learn how to do it. The tent is very large, but as a previous reviewer mentioned it is not 17x12. I'd say it's about 17x7 or 17x8, and then the screen room makes the additional width. Nevertheless, it's still very large, easily accomodating my family of 9 (2 adults, 7 children). The screen room will be a very handy place to leave our shoes as we enter the tent and will provide some additional shade or keep us (and the tent) dry as we go in or out in the rain.

It was easy to set up even though the instructions were a bit vague. Using some common sense we got it up the first time in 40 minutes, and the second time it took us only 25 minutes. It took us two trys to fold it up so that it fit in the bag again, but we got it!

There are some nice features. The tent is very tall inside, which is good since I'm 6'4". I do not have to duck in the tent. Also, in the middle of the center room ceiling is a hook to hang a light or a fan. There are three mesh pockets, one in each room.

The tent is attractive and appears well constructed. We'll review again after the first time we actually camp in it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Tent/Condo, October 10, 2011

This review is from: Giga Tent-Kinsman Mt. (Misc.)
Pros:
Easy Set Up
Can Stand in Any of the Rooms
Great Floor Plan
Full Zippered Room Dividers
3 Doors Makes Easy Entry
Tie backs for ALL Windows and Doors
Well Insulated
Spacious
Steel Poles Make this Tent Sturdy

Cons:
Horrible Directions for Setup
Windows in Side Rooms do Not Zip at Top
Screen Room is not attached to tent

We bought this tent to accommodate 2 Adults, 2 Children, 1 Labrador, and all of our necessary gear. This tent fits all of us comfortably.

We set this tent up for the first time in our living room without the rainfly. The directions are impossible to figure out, but once we started tooling around with it, the tent came together easily.

I love that this tent is a pin/ring system. The poles for the sides of the tent are steel but still fold down into segments like fiberglass poles. It also has steel connector pieces that fasten onto the tent with clasps, which adds to the structural stability of this tent, and makes setup easier. The rainfly attaches easily to the tent with hooks on bungees that attach onto the metal rings on 6 of the steel poles.

I am 5'7 and I can stand up in all of the rooms in the tent. We use the center room for the grownups, and one of the side rooms for the kids. They have small air mattresses that just barely fit in one of the side rooms. Our clothing/gear/dog go in the other side room of the tent.

We use the screen porch as a mud room. You could fit two chairs in there, but since it does not attach to the tent (It's part of the rainfly) you may just as well sit outside. We laid down some outdoor carpet in the screen room which keeps all of the dirt on the porch rather than inside the tent. I think I actually prefer that the screen room without a floor so that I can just lift it up to get rid of the dirt instead of trying to shake it out or sweep it out. I do wish that it was part of the tent rather than the rainfly, though, so that there would be no gap between the sides of the porch and the tent.

There are windows galore in this tent and there's a tie back for every one and for every flap, which I love. If you wanted to, you could really treat one of the side rooms as a porch. If you open all of the windows, it's pretty much a screened enclosure, and since there is a full divider between the rooms, there would be no problem with using one fo the rooms that way.

The walls of the tent are pretty much straight up and down, which means you're utilizing every inch of floor space in the tent, which is nice.

I can't speak to whether or not this tent would stay dry in rain, because the weather was perfect when we took this tent camping, but I have no doubt that this tent could withstand winds, because of the way it's constructed.

As soon as I test this out in the rain, I will update my review. As of right now, we are extremely happy with this tent, and I think it will work for us for years with our growing family.

1.0 out of 5 stars very disappointed, June 28, 2011

To begin with this tent was made in China - no where in the description does it indicate this. THe rooms are too small, and the quality of the tent is not what I expected. I am very disappointed in this tent.

I set this tent up to seal the seams, and as soon as it was dry I was going to take it down. As soon as it was set up, it began to rain before I could put the sealer on. It rained for the next 5 days. After 5 straight days of high wind and heavy rain, the tent was still dry inside. It's great, roomy, love the porch, and would recommend this tent. Set up was relatively easy (I am an experienced camper), but I instructions on how to fold it back up to get in the bag!!

Great tent.

5.0 out of 5 stars gigatent, March 20, 2010

Love the tent! It was pouring the first day we used it and it held up soooooo well! We were dry! The only bad thing was that the carrying bag for the tent, fell apart on us. I guess it didn't have good stitching on it or something. So we are left without a bag for our tent :(
