Just got this board today and won't have a chance to test it out as I've not received my CPU or RAM yet.

That said, the reason I'm posting here now is because I wont to point out that the first image, as of today (18 November 2013) is the wrong image for this product. The first image shows the old LGA 1366 chipset (i7-900 series processor) MB.

The second image IS the correct image of this motherboard. In short this IS a G1. Sniper 5 board, and Amazon needs to remove that first image.

As for my initial impression... Impressive. You really feel the quality when you pick it up; it's heavy, and solidly built. Not too impressed with the green accents, but I knew that going in.

Gigabyte software utility suite is terrible, Slow, buggy, and bloated.

At one point my audio completely stopped working. I had to turn off my power supply in order for it to work again.

The I/O shield makes install unnecessarily difficult.

I don't know if it's this mobo or my video card but my system has crashed several times while mining, and nothing is overclocked. All my hardware is in spec, runs super cold, and I run a top of the line PSU.

I really love the motherboard. It was all i wanted and more. The only BIG issue i had with it was the Audio. I don't know if it is a buggy driver or the motherboard, but ever so often my entire Audio has the Robot/Static sound. Everything changes to a very static/Robot like sound and it takes a reboot to get the Audio back to normal other than that, this is a very good Motherboard. I will be returning it to get a replacement soon.

UPDATE :

After getting 3 (Let me clarify, 3!) Advanced Motherboard replacements from Gigabyte, i have had the same issue ALL 3 times. I have assembled everything correctly, but i still get this weird audio noise randomly when i am in a skype call or playing a game. A reboot of the computer is still required to fix this issue. If I could get a refund, i would do so immediately.

I have been getting the g1.sniper line since they started with x58 they always put focus on the audio and this board is no different. The audio performance while is not as music geared(gaming oriented on the 5) as the original g1.sniper the sniper 5 audio is still leaps and bounds better than boards using realtek audio chips. The killer nic is a gimmick nic it works just as well as a intel nic but has a fancy network manager that can come in handy in prioritizing network traffic. The qualcomm wireless card works it is just not as good performance or feature wise as say an intel wireless nic. The board is also very nice just to look at especially if you like green.

I bought the board for the onboard sound which may have cost a bit more, but if I have have the same quality sound onboard that I would have bought on a card that would mess up my airflow otherwise, then it's worth it. I'm running SLI with no issues from the board.

Great product out of the box, running strong for almost a month.
