What Other Items Do Customers Buy After Viewing This Item?
Based on review scores from Amazon and Newegg customers, this full-sized motherboard has the least problems. Does this make it the best AM3+ motherboard in the market? . . . Here are the "good" and "bad." . . ADVANTAGES . 1. Among users in the Amazon and Newegg websites, this has the best reviews. Only 12% rated it with unsatisfactory scores of two and one stars. Only two people reported DOAs. . Unlike the competing Asus brand, its best had a 20% unsatisfactory rating. The next earned 25%. Almost all were significant quality issues: DOAs and non-functioning problems within weeks. . 2. This full sized board has an abundance of expansion slots: 2 PCI, 3 PCIe, and 2 PCIe 16. . 3. There are six SATA connectors for hard drives and DVD players, 14 USB 2.0 ports, four USB 3.0 ports. . 4. The maximum memory capacity is 32 GB. . 5. Gigabyte advertisement claims unique features: humidity, electrostatic, power failure, and high temperature protection; the MB is made of glass fabric PCB, and all capacitors are solid. These are suppose to extend the service life of the motherboard and make it "trouble free." . . . Regardless of the claims, I hope that these hypes are true because I push mine to the max. My Asus boards last no longer than 18 months. . 6. On November 10, 2013, I was able to purchase this "for a steal" on the Newegg website. It reduced the retail price by $25, and the manufacturer gave an additional $10 rebate. In the end, the final cost was $55. There were no shipping charges or sales tax. All in all, this was a 42% savings - a deal of the century! I have never experience such a deep discount for a quality motherboard - they never happen. . The price was so good that I had my sister order me a second.Read more ›

I switched to Gigabyte years ago because of the countless issues I was having with other boards. Something always went wrong on the boards. Sound chip not working, dead sata controllers, dead memory slot, ALWAYS something. Since I've gone gigabyte, I've built close to 10 computers using their parts in the last 3 years and never once an issue.
I did fry a board by pushing an 8350 to 5.2GHz. I got it stable, but was pulling too much power through the VRMs. Gigabyte fixed it for free, I sold that board and bought a beefier one. That board was the 990FX-UD3 and I upgraded to the UD5
This board, is a great half n half board. Good on a budget but still will let you OC a little. Do not get crazy with this board. If you're hitting speeds you can't cool on decent air cooling, then this board isn't for you. You'll be ok with a few hundred MHz overclock but nothing serious. The VRMs, the capacitors as well as the VRM cooling just isn't there. This only a board on a budget with good features and UEFI. IF you want OC potential, look into the 990 series boards.
No problems once so ever on this board. Everything worked, booted right now, nice UEFI bios and all of that. I used this board in conjunction with a 6350 CPU.

This board lives up to my past experience with Gigabyte motherboards. Easy to configure, install, and good feature set for the price. Paired it with an FX-8350, and my new box can count to infinity in about three seconds. Ha!

I am very pleased with this board. There are some things you probably should know about it:
1. No onboard video. Not a big deal if you are building this for gaming. 2. The on board sound is great! But, there is no software EQ and no headphone AMP. I ended up adding a sound card. 3. The second PCIe x16 slot only runs at x4 4. It does not support SLI, just Crossfire. So no dual NVidia cards. 5. One of the PCIe x1 slots is so close to the PCIe x16 slot that it is unusable if you install a video card that requires two bays. (A card would probably fit, but it would block all air flow.)
For me all of those things are very minor. The board works great! I have a water cooled FX8320, 16 GB of RAM, an overclocked Radeon R9 280X, A SoundBlaster soundcard, three Hard Drives, and an ATI video capture card installed in it. No problems and the performance is great!
Plus everywhere you look there is another USB port! This really is a very good board.

This is a solid motherboard with a great deal of room for upgrades. It has ten rear mounted usb ports two of witch are usb 3.0. The panel for the on/off switch, reset switch etc. is located on the side of the motherboard rather than the bottom this made it easy to keep my build neat. My only complaints are the DIMM position is a little close to the cpu fan which makes for a tight fit if your ram has a large heat sink. Also one of the mother mounting screw holes is located underneath the top of the ram dimm clips making it difficult to properly screw the mother board to the case.

Amazing AM3+ motherboard. I upgraded from an old 760 chipset to a 970. Worth it. The box was neatly packed, BIOS CDs and drivers were included, sata cables and anti static bag was neatly packed too. The board ran perfectly. The only problem I had was the screw extremely close to the ram slots so it was difficult to screw. Just be careful. The shipping was quick and I had no problems. So I rate it 5/5
