So, I bought this motherboard to use for a hackintosh. It works flawlessly with snow leopard.

PROS
The board is big and easy to work with. Getting the CPU on is easy. The RAM slots are colour coordinated (so its easy to know which slots are dual-channeled, but I mean most mobos are this way now, its still nice though).

The 20+4 went in really easy. And it will be easy to remove should I need to do something with the power supply.

The SATA ports are labeled and are flush with the board, meaning, the sata connectors fit into the board vertically, not horizontally. This means its easier to plug in a new HDD without removing the video card

It was super easy to plug in the EFIx dongle. The board CLEARLY lables USB header 1. I've not seen other boards do this. Mostly DFI. They label it USB but not the number.

CONS
The board was a little pricey for being an older board. But, GigiByte puts a lot of quality work into their product, so the price was worth it.

I bought it to install OSX86 10.5.6 and it works perfectly. Great motherboard for hackingtosh.

This mobo is a solid value. I heartily recommend it.

I own this mobo (Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3L) and Asus P5Q-E. The Asus costs $20 more, has more features. However, the Gigabyte is just such a solid value. It just works -- no fuss.

Pros:
PS/2 keyboard and mouse
6 SATA
8 USB on back.
easy setup -- std audio, nic, chipset drivers easy to find
IDE connector

Cons:
no firewire
no 2nd SATA chip (for esata or SATA ports 7 and 8)
DIMM slots positioned poorly -- blocks installation of long cards in slots for 2 PCIe x1 slots.
DIMM slots positioned too close to CPU -- causes interference with some coolers, i.e. Scythe Mugen 2 rev B ( must have long way of cooler parallel to DIMMs )

Intuitive, good lay-out, perfected bios. Just a good board, owned for 2 months now, no hiccups.

Very easy install. I had no trouble at all replacing my son's crappy Intel motherboard with this new one. Everything worked great afterwards. I recommend it. The board is well marked, so I hardly had to crack open the installation manual at all. I could easily determine where to slug in the HDD light, On Button, etc.

I have another system with a gigabyte ga-ep45-ds3r it died after 2.5 years. RMA'd it to Gigabyte they replaced it and tested the new board before shipping it back to me. No problems with warranty replacement at all. They were great to work with. This board has gone together perfect and all is working great. Definitly recommend Gigabyte boards!

I bought this after reading user reviews on building a Hackintosh so i could
use all the mac studio Goodies, and this was the smartest choice im running 10.6
Snow Leopard latest version with Excellent results, also if you google theres a
auto config drivers to install snow leopard for this mobo that makes it a breeze. Now im running
windows vista on one drive, and mac snow on the other with a dual boot,and love it
oh and amazon had this to me in 26hrs for a flat 16.00 shipping fee awesome

This motherboard has more options for overclocking than I've even heard of, and that's saying something. Worked right out of the box.

I built my wife's computer and used this board, that was four years ago and it is still going strong. Her computer is left on 24/7 and I use my air compressor to blow out the PC about every six months. Keeping the PC clean and the quality of the board, I feel that her PC will last for several more years.
