I received this card 01/15/2014. The box was not sealed, no tape no nothing. I didn't think much of it. Opened the box, the card was in an obviously generic anti-static bag. Card itself APPEARED brand new, ie no obvious dust or signs of use. Installed the card in my x16 PCIe slot (i only have one slot), hooked up the 2 x 6 pin PCIe power connectors and fired up my computer. First off the card would not display on one DVI output, and only displayed the number zero in the lower right of the other monitor. Bad sign. No BIOS screen no nothing. I could hear my machine boot into the Windows desktop (windows sound) but nothing came up on either monitor (one was black, other still not detecting DVI input). I hit the reset button and rebooted. No bios screen came up, and same black on monitors etc, heard windows sound booting to desktop and a VERY long time the system hung at a black screen, but then all the sudden my desktop appeared. I thought this was strange but it seemed to be working. Check catalyst control center, and GPU-Z card seemed to be detected properly with the right amount of VRAM etc. Played Civ 5 for a few hours, card performed well.

Left it overnight then next morning restarted my machine, same thing boot to black screen, windows sound but no display. Couldn't boot into safe mode either, checked everything in BIOS, card showing fine. Never could get the card to display anything after that. Put my HD6970 2GB back in and instantly all displays worked and booted into windows without a single problem.

TLDR: card was bad, i got someone's open box return. Shame on you Amazon. I spend thousands of dollars a year on Prime, and you send me some reject returned card. Newegg wouldn't even do that.

This wasn't a mobo issue, the machine always booted fine right into windows, but no display ever worked correctly, and 1 DVI was never even detected = defective card.

It is hard to decide how many stars I should give. I think this is a good model, but my experience with this order was unacceptable. I didn't expect amazon will ship an open box item instead of new. My experience with amazon was good for many years. The box looked like it was opened several times, its flap was half-torn. It clearly looked like someone's return. The card inside was in a plastic bag, I didn't notice any scratches right away, but the bent heatsink caught my attention right away. Because of the shape of the heatsink, I didn't expect the card to work or to cool itself under load. I still decided to test it to get some idea about this model. To my surprise, the card was functional with no overheating. It passed all tests and its performance is quite good despite of its bent shape and being an open box item. My rating reflects the average of my impression about the card and my experience with this order.

This card itself is a great video card. I would recommend it to serious gamers on a mid-priced budget. The packaging was very appropriately done and the card itself is very sexy. I could not wait to get on some gaming after I booted up the PC, installed the drivers, and downloaded some games. It started off as a lovable experience! 180 FPS on Black light Retribution on Ultra Settings. Only then did I realize the beauty was taken away as soon as i noticed the "artifacts" in different areas across the screen. I thought it was the drivers. So I checked again and installed the lasted drivers for the card. Still no improvement. I tried different games and multiple monitors. Sadly, I came to the realization that the card itself was indeed the problem.

Over all this card is 5/5 stars but sadly i was shipped a defected card. I do understand that it DOES happen. I had high (maybe too high) expectations for this order, but this did not meet my needs. I will be returning the card and ordering it off of newegg ( where all my other parts came from)

I paired this with an FX-8320 and it handles just about everything I have at Totally maxed settings or between high and ultra on newer titles (like BF4) at 1920x1080. You should note that the R9 270X is a remade HD7800 series card with a higher clock (this is boosted a bit further) and requires less power (2x 6-pin PCIe). I bought this at just over $200 which is still inflated (damn bitcoin miners) but I still think it's worth the cost. It is Crossfire capable and I will pick up another to try it out once it comes back down. I don't game on multiple screens so this card is perfect.

Only downside was Amazon's shipping. It's the first time they screwed it up but it did arrive and I am very happy with it.

UPDATE 4/16/2014:
Decided on a whim to try an overclock it and I guess I lost the overclocking lottery with this one. I only managed to get an extra 20MHz (1120MHz) on the core. The voltage is locked on this card so that may have held it back a bit. Still, while stress testing it using Valley Benchmark, it never went over 55 C at 53% fan speed. With the Windforce cooler, that around 2200 rpm and it's still very quiet. Just a slight hum at full load. I'm still overjoyed with this card. I'm sure others will have better luck overclocking these. I just didn't get lucky.

So I got this graphic card since I heard good reviews about it from JayzTwoCent stating that it can play Battlefield 4 in Ultra settings, but I don't it will be in Crysis 3. So what I would say about this is a great budget mid-high range Graphic card, and great for video editing (if you have a good CPU). If you're in a budget at the moment, I would recommend this, and you can always get another card to do Crossfire. Especially with Mantle, this will be get even better once it's optimized with all the games.

I have no cons with this graphics card because I get what I pay for. One major problem that I had was that when I recieved the package, it was already ripped open. And this is my first time using Amazon prime, but it was a disappointment. I hope they will address this soon
