So I'm upgrading from my old stock EVGA GTX 260 and I have to say the difference between the two is staggering. The Gigabyte GTX 680 is quieter, cooler, more energy efficient and powerful compared to my old GTX 260.

There were many other brands to choose from, but I went with Gigabyte for three reasons. Smaller size as compared to the large ASUS DCII OC 680, the memory chips have heat sinks attach to them that allows direct cooling and their Ultra Durability technology.

I initially bought the ASUS DCII OC 680 card, but later return it because I was having issues with the size of the card as it was interfering with adjacent cards. The ASUS DCII OC 680 did run cooler due to their larger fins to dissapate heat better (8 degrees cooler). The noise level for both Gigabyte and ASUS 680 seems about the same to me, I can't hear them all when playing games. Gigabyte's WindoForce 3x cooling Technology sounds like a good idea, but I don't see it being very effective versus ASUS humongous heatsinks fins. If maybe Gigabyte include larger heatsink fins along with their WindoForce tech then maybe it'll be even better at cooling. My idle tempterature is at 28C while when stress testing with Uningine Heaven it was 69C.

The real main reason why I choose Gigabytes card over most of the others is that they have actually heatsinks attach to the memory chips to allow for direct cooling compared to the ASUS DCII OC where it only relies on the active fans above the heatsink to cool the memory chips.

Lastly, I want my card to last a long time and be tough because I am overclocking it pretty hard plus I don't really plan on buying another card for good long time. Gigabyte's Ultra Durable technology is what exactly what I am looking for so I went with it.

The Gigabyte GTX 680 windforce cards are not only well priced but run flawlessly. They have aftermarket fans and as a result the temperatures are even lower than other reference GTX 680's that do not include any factory overclocked settings. They run cool, overclock well and do not make much noise at all considering they're overclocked. These are simply the GTX 680's you should get unless you are looking for 4GB of VRAM or want a GTX already installed with a water block.

Pros: If you're looking for a high end card look no further. The GTX 680 windforce is THE card to get. Nice little overclock, great cooling, and incredible performance make this in my opinion one of the best cards money can buy. Tears through any game I throw at it with ease. I actually replaced GTX 570's and the performance is so much more consistent. No more stuttering, strange frame drops, and whatever other issues SLI can give off. Not only that but with the increased VRam I can play BF3 on Ultra with MSAA without any stutter.

Cons: None

This GTX680 from gigabyte it's just really good.
It runs really cool, peaking at 50C while overclocked to 1250mhz.
I'm giving it 4 stars due to the lack of accesories that were included with it. No kind of adapters to different display outputs were included, and also it lacked an SLI bridge
Overall a great card, I really recommend it.

This is one high quality 680 gtx. It runs extremely cool, by far the coolest graphics card I've ever had.
Idle Temps - 20-25 C
Load/Gaming Temps < 50 C

It's usually around 35 C when I'm gaming actually, it never really goes above that, but on things like heavy rendering it could peak at 50 C. Which is not even high. Seriously the cooling of this card is great, the fan system was well thought out. The card runs great, no problem running maxed out on any game I throw at it. Great product, worked right out of the box, easy installation, what else do you need? If you're thinking about buying a 680 I would definitely recommend this card.

Amazing graphics card. I got this graphics card to replace by aging GTX 460. It runs very quietly and I haven't experienced any lag while running Diablo 3 and Starcraft on max settings. Absolutely love it!

I have owned this card since February of this year and have had no problems with it. It runs pretty quietly. The performance has been great i have ran games like L4D2,Dishonored and Saints Row 3&IV with any problems and I can run them and 1900X1200 with most settings on High or above. I really do like this card and would highly recommend it.
