I love this motherboard!
It's a great choice if you're looking to be a overclockable build like I was. It has all the features you may want and a modest price. Only draw back however is that there are only two fan headers which is really dumb consider in all cases you need at least 3. So plan on getting a fan connector so you can pull air in, push air out and cool your CPU.

I encountered several issues with this board when attempting to install non-UEFI 64-bit Windows 7 to a single solid-state drive...

Firstly, the BIOS will boot devices in UEFI, wherever applicable, by default. When booting from the OS installation disc, the user is actually prompted to "boot from CD" 2 times. the first time is while the Gigabyte BIOS splash screen appears, hitting any key to boot from the CD at this point will boot the CD in UEFI and force 64-bit UEFI Windows to be installed. That causes several complications, such as the boot device needing to be GPT partitioned and not the (still?) more common MBR partition table.

the second prompt to "boot from CD" is right after the BIOS splash. there will be an all black screen, with just the words "press any key to boot from CD.." appearing on the screen; a much more familiar screen to me. by hitting a key to boot from the CD at this point, the CD boots in "normal" non-UEFI mode and will install "normal" non-UEFI Windows (this is what I want).

Secondly, I could not seem to get the OS to install with the SATA controller set to AHCI mode. there were a couple errors I encountered when running through my regular install setup.. I ultimately had to install Windows with the SATA set to IDE mode.

Perhaps the per-installed SATA drivers were not loaded properly, I don't know. but this was certainly the most complicated Windows installation I've done in quite a while. Other than that, the board seems of good quality. The APP Center (software utility) is hanging on update and I will have to see how that works out.

I have not tried re-installing the SATA drivers and switching the BIOS or AHCI yet, but I plan on attempting so shortly. I will update with my results.

Gigabyte is going straight down hill with their product quality. They used to make a solid, reliable product and now 50+% of their MBs and components my computer manufacturing company purchases do no pass our initial testing with a good handful dieing months out. Stay away and go with MSI, Asus, and ASRock. Much more reliable for current times. We have dropped GB as a product supplier from our entire business. Moreover, their tech support and customer service just fight with you and are highly unresponsive. Take a look around a few of the components and you will see reviews by other very consistent with this one.
