Like ticktacktoe? You'll love Quixo Classic. Twenty-five wooden cubes are shifted up and down and side-to-side as players try to line up five--diagonally, vertically, or horizontally--with their own symbol, X or O. Think carefully--every move brings the possibility of inadvertently helping your opponent win. In turn, each player removes a cube from the periphery of the handsome, dark wood board (10 inches in diameter) and replaces it at the end of one of the rows made incomplete by its removal, sliding the remaining four to fill up the empty space. Now the entire row has changed and each player may be one step closer to--or further from--winning. Keen strategic and visualization skills are a must. --Emilie Coulter

We have had this game for over a year and love it. We take it on vacation and play it often at home. It is a quick and challenging game that is fun for adults as well as kids. A fun family activity!

This is the third or fourth Quixo game we have purchased to give as a gift! We originaly recieved ours as a gift about 5 years ago and it has been a favorite ever since. Quixo is tic tac toe with pieces that move. You have a strategy, then oops, your opponent chages it all with one move. It is suitable for anyone from age 8 to adult. We keep ours out at all times - a coffee table game. It is very high quality with real wooden blocks as playing pieces. Enjoy!

My family plays a lot of games and this is a strategy game that doesn't take long to get started and doesn't take days to play. It is a lot of fun.

Gigamic Games has done it again with Quixo. Quixo is a very attractive little game that you recognize from the moment you see it. Yes, it is a game very similar to tic-tac-toe. I despise tic-tac-toe and I have ever since I got a tie game with every single person that I played with with. Somehow expanding the grid didn’t even make it a challenge. Quixo however gives you plenty to think about and almost always yields a winner. Simple to learn, it is a game that can be added to any evening of fun and should stay within quick reach. I give it a solid 5 stars because essentially there is nothing wrong with it. It simply lacks a certain flair. Basically the game is like tic-tac-toe where all the tiles begin blank. Once a piece it turned over it stays that way. Just flipping a tile though it way too simple. in order to move a piece or flip it, you must pick it up, and put it at one of the ends of the row or column from which you took it. A simple twist with a little more than simple outcome.

Cons

1.) Sustainability – My one and only complaint with this game is I don’t see it as a game that will keep your interest forever. There are some games that are pretty timeless and will always be one of your favorites. This game definitely withstands the test of time and could easily be a classic. But I don’t know that it will always be a game that you are itching to play. It is a background game. Good to have, but not a regular.

Pros

1.) Fresh Twist – As I said above, I HATE tic-tac-toe. I admire the fact that you can play a game with a pen, paper, and little effort, but the game is essentially boring and always ends in a stale-mate. In all my time playing this game, I have never had the game end in a draw. I guess it is possible, but unlikely.

Everybody who plays this buys this. Everybody! Simple rules, but requires a lot of thought. If you want smart kids, buy every Gigamic game there is and limit the PS4 time.
