inexpensive, easy shoe solution EDIT: not durable,

It took me about 10 minutes to set up this rack, including a few minutes to locate a hammer. It says no tools required, but a hammer with a cloth over the head (or a rubber mallet) is helpful to insert the poles into the side fittings. Immediately after setup, I noticed that I couldn't fit 5 pairs onto each rack. I could fit 4.5 for an overall total of 45 pairs, not 50 as it claims. I'm sure the capacity depends on individual shoe size. For reference, I'm a women's 7.5. Another item of note is the short distance between racks. Some are about 5 in. apart so it's a little tricky if you have wedges with 4-5 inch heels. Boots only fit on the top rack. I just got the item, so it's too early to determine how sturdy it is with use, but the value of having 45 pairs of shoes on immediate display cannot be overstated. When I was loading up the racks, I found several shoes in boxes that I had forgotten I owned. Now I can't forget because they're right in front of me.EDIT: I was deployed so I don't know the exact time, but somewhere in the year to two year time period of being used, this thing fell apart. The plastic sides buckled and they're deformed to the point that I can't set it up again.

"shoes on floor",

This is a very poor quality product. I paid what I thought was alot for something I couldn't actually see before buying. This shoe rack is made of flimsy plastic racks with metal bars, and I cannot keep the bars in the plastic rack. As they started falling out I started to glue them back in, but then the plastic rack started bowing in and leaning.....Right now my shoes are in a pile on the floor where the whole thing collapsed.

I purchased this based upon the above review and was extremely disappointed. While putting it together the plastic joints literally fell apart in my hands.

Good and bad points,

First of all, I agree with the reviewer who said this sucker wasn't that easy to put together - after several frustrating attempts (the bars kept popping out of the frame), I finally glued it all together, and that did the trick. Once together, it's a really nice unit, easy to use, and huge storage capacity. However, I noticed early on that it looked like it was eventually going to collapse. I guess one could say I was overloading it, but I wasn't putting anything other than normal shoes on it, and I wasn't overpacking it. I attempted a few stopgap solutions, but finally the inevitable happened this past week. Quite the mess. And one of the stacking parts is broken right off, so it's really not repairable. I really liked the organizational benefits of the rack while it was up, so now I'm searching for something similar but a little bit sturdier.

This item is the biggest mistake I have ever made in purchasing online. The rack looks good on sight, but after putting it together, which was easy enough to do, and putting on my fifty pairs of shoes the sides just started bending. I truly regret buying this item.

Consider this: plastic may be the product of our lives, but it has serious limitations with this product. The forms are too thin to support more durable shoes that have some weight to them - like my husband's Allen Edmunds- and the feet literally collapsed inwards. This product is too dangerous and unreliable to have around small pets or children.

This is a very huge disappiontment for me. I spent $40 bux on a shoe rack which tumbled to the ground. I try to assemble it as much as three times but the same thing happen. The online display caught my eye but the actual trial was a bomb.

This shoe rack was simple enough to put together - attention to detail is required for stacking. I have my shoes in boxes and this holds them perfectly. Granted it isn'tlike metal store shelves, but hey, it works just fine for me and my shoes - to include tennis shoes, boots, wedge sandles and heels. I plan to order another one to stack it higher and secure it to the wall for a bit of tip-protection.
