5.0 out of 5 stars Everyone will soon be roaring over Jasper, Fatima's useless little genie in a bottle!, May 1, 2011
Princess Fatima was flying around the palace on her flying carpet awaiting the arrival of Princesses Lysandra, Elena, and Tansy. As soon as the trio arrived, they were off to the bazaar for a little shopping spree. Lysandra, who loved flying, soon spotted a carpet and got out her magic purse with its endless supply of gold coins to pay the vendor. She was quickly disappointed to find that it was none other than the type you swept the dirt under. Fatima had a little more luck, at least for the moment, when she purchased a beautiful ruby bottle. She was told that "You have a good eye. That one is the most precious. It holds a gigantic, genuine genie." Later when Fatima opened the bottle a "quivering, pink pear-shaped" blob by the name of Jasper came tumbling out. "As angels sing, I'm the genuine thing." Not.

Jasper couldn't even grant a single, simple wish let alone vaporize to get back into his bottle. The only thing he was capable of was spouting out bad rhymes, stale jokes, and getting on everyone's nerves. Long ago Jasper's powers had been zapped. The Grand Genie had told him, "Your powers will return on the day everyone acknowledges you no longer need them." He decided that he would try to be helpful around the palace, but ended up being so UN-helpful that Fatima was soon angrily shoving him back in the bottle. "What a lot of trouble Jasper turned out to be!" She soon overheard the other three princesses saying things like, "Fatima's so hard on him." She thought that perhaps they were right and went looking for Jasper, but he was missing and soon she would follow in his tiny footsteps. Would Lysandra, Elena, and Tansy be able to use their princess power to rescue them from the clutches of evil thieves?

Everyone will soon be roaring over Jasper, Fatima's useless little genie in a bottle. Jasper will make everyone chuckle over his silly antics, except Fatima, who became quite exasperated with him. I found him quite adorable at times and he fit right in with the princesses, all of whom had special magical powers to offset his lack of them. The race was not only on to find out where Fatima and Jasper had disappeared to, but also to find out a way to restore Jasper's lost powers. This is the sixth and last book in the Princess Power series starring four charming princesses, each of whom possesses an interesting magical power that can help solve mysteries. Elena's magical healing lotion couldn't restore Jasper's height nor his powers, but was a help in solving this unusually tricky mystery. If you have a youngster who loves royally perplexing mysteries and loves a good adventure story, this is one series you should consider!
