Quickly locate your child at the touch of a button! The Giggle Bug Toddler Tracker is an easy to use child locator used for chidren ages 18 months to 6 years. The "Bug" unit attaches to the child's clothing and the hand held activator is held by the parent / caregiver. In the event the child wanders away and is missing, the parent presses the button on the activator FOB and the "bug" unit emits a 90 db beep until the child is found. The bug clip is tamper proof and sounds the beep if the unit becomes dislodged or is removed from the child. The Giggle Bug functions up to 100 ft. indoors and 150 ft. outdoors. The Giggle Bug provides the parent / caregiver an added measure of peace of mind knowing that a lost child can be located by following the loud "bug" beep. Ideal for malls, playgrounds, beaches, airports, etc. Both units use an easily replaceable common 3V coin cell battery. Availabe in red, yellow and pink.

I thought this was a clever idea for helping me find my toddler in a department store. It was $20 wasted. First it took 4 1/2 months to get because of backorders getting pushed back. Second, it isn't loud enough in most stores because the beep can not be heard most of the time over the music. Works fine if the store is fairly empty and playes subdued music. Third, after a month it stopped beeping. It buzzed and vibrated for hours. I took the battery out hoping to reset the bug. This didn't work. The buzzing continued after replacing the battery with a new one. I don't know if I just got a dud but it's overpriced and failed me miserably.

This is such a great product. I hate taking my toddler shopping. He is constantly getting away from me. I clipped the bug on him and now all I have to do is push my hand held unit and I hear him beeping. Now I at least know what direction to head to find him before he wanders too far away from me. I clipped the bug on his back where he couldn't get at it. And if the bug comes off or someone tries to take it off, it makes a continuous beep. I wish I had this product when my older kids were little.

Good idea but does not work. The bug's siren is so quiet there is no way I would trust the safty of my child with this thing. I thought it was going to be loud like the person alarms that make that high pitch sound.

May 2009 - In response to customer feedback the Giggle Bug Toddler Tracker version 2 (v2) has been released. The v2 product is improved and upgraded, with increased "beep" loudness and greater distance sensitivity. The v2 upgrade addresses and solves all feedback customers had about the product, and we guarantee you will love this new, upgraded version - 60 day money back guarantee. This electronic child locator is great for keeping your toddler or young child safe, and being able find them with the touch of a button! The Giggle Bug clips onto the child's clothing and the parent carries the handheld activator. Anytime you can't see your child, simply press the button on the handheld, and the Giggle Bug emits a loud, distinctive, child-freindly beep. Follow the beep to your child. The clip is also a tamper resistant safety alarm that sounds if someone takes the bug off your child, or if it becomes dislodged. Please consider the Giggle Bug, it really is a great product and we are passionate about keeping children safe. Thank You!

Companies selling safety products should care about what they produce. This product is terrible! Cheaply made, it was difficult to use and was unreliable. It work right only once, then it didn't work correctly again. Amazon has a great return policy and I returned it very quickly.

Also my 2 year old son was afraid of the "bug", we bought another product that was much less frightening. That product is well made and fantastic.

The Mommy I'm Here Child Locator did cost a bit more, but was well worth it.

I don't normally write a review, but this was so bad, It looked like a dollar store item, honestly.

The Giggle-bug I wasted my money on is sitting in my kitchen junk drawer as I write this review. It's incredibly obvious that the manufacturer never bothered to test this device in a real-world environment. The toy-like look of the Giggle-bug attracts other toddlers who touch it and activiate it over and over again. (My poor little 19 month old boy was walking around the playground saying beep, beep, beep, beep by the end of the first day we tried it.) That being said, the beeping noise is so subdued, that only the child wearing it and those in his immediate proximity can hear it. Sure, in a museum, the beeping could be heard from a distance, but in a crowded park, it can be heard from only a few feet away - and if your toddler is within a few feet of you, why would you need to use a locator to find him? Anyway, this product gets a big fat "0" from this customer.

I took the Giggle bug with us to a stock show. It was inside a large building with lots of people and you could not hear the beep with the child right next to you unless you listened really carefully. The beep is not loud enough.

You know the old expression: "you get what you pay for"?
Well, in the case of the Giggle Bug Toddler Tracker (hereafter GB) you get LESS than you paid for.

At the time when I read the reviews for the GB on Amazon there were 3 strongly in favor and 3 strongly against. I (foolishly) figured those numbers equal out to an average quality device. For only ~$20 I decided it was worth it.

Oh, how wrong I was.

You see, the GB is cheap (in cost) because it is VERY cheap (in construction quality).

It has 50% love/50% hate reviews because it is sooo cheaply made that it arrives non-functional (or soon breaks) 50% of the time.

Guess how my roll of the GB dice turned out? Yep. Non-functional.
Changed the batteries. Alarm blared uncontrollably at random intervals.

Returned it, they sent another: broke in half the first time we used it (without any rough use from our child).
Absolutely craptastic. $20 is no bargain if it is 50% likely to NOT work.

We found a better overall reviewed device (more expensive) that works great and is sturdy.

Child trackers are a great idea, but get one that is sturdy and with good reviews.
Yes, you will have to pay more for it... isn't your child worth the money?
I wouldn't buy my dog one of these crappy Giggle Bugs.
