Video Description

From KIDS FIRST!: Get ready to chuckle out loud as smart Duck takes advantage of Farmer’s vacation to stir up some trouble. This delightful collection brings classic stories to the screen with beautiful illustrations and simple narration. Background music and sound effects add to the tales without overpowering them. Learn about the lives of spiders, worms and flies through whimsical stories in the diaries of worms and flies. You probably never thought before how difficult it might be for a worm to do the Hokey Pokey. Learn about the process one has to go through to become president as Duck heads to Washington, DC before deciding his life was much better back on the farm. “Giggle, Giggle, Quack” has a great use of humor, appropriate for the audience. It stimulates curiosity and encourages children to think, reason and question while it exposes them to exemplary literature. KIDS FIRST! Child Juror Comments: I liked how it looked. The animation was fun and different. You don't see characters move quite like this anymore. The music was a little boring, but it was funny to see the animals try to sing the songs that I know! The kids were singing along. They thought the characters were funny and commented on how it was interesting to see the everyday lives of flies and worms. One child got very excited and said that the diaries were his favorite books. They really laughed when the worm thought the money was a leaf.

5.0 out of 5 stars Is there anything funnier than ducks and chickens?, December 24, 2004
This review is from: Giggle, Giggle, Quack... and More Funny Favorites (Scholastic Video Collection) (DVD)
This is such a fun collection of stories that I don't mind it when the kids want to watch it over and over and over again. My least favorite is "The Foolish Frog" and even that one is still pretty fun. My four year old loves to tell the story along with it. It's our family's favorite video. We haven't watched a Disney movie in ages.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good., February 27, 2006
This review is from: Giggle, Giggle, Quack... and More Funny Favorites (Scholastic Video Collection) (DVD)
My almost 2 1/2 year old daughter received the book of Giggle Giggle Quack at a free book fair, and has loved it since day one. I have to admit that I have always loved Randy Travis's voice, so I was pleasantly surprised when I realized that he was the narrator for the title story. We also really love The Foolish Frog, which is also on the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom DVD, as one of the extra stories. This DVD got a thumbs up in this household.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful DVD for children, May 28, 2008
This review is from: Giggle, Giggle, Quack... and More Funny Favorites (Scholastic Video Collection) (DVD)
My son had borrowed this DVD from the library so many times that I finally bought it. He loves all 6 stories. We have all the books by Doreen Cronin and at age 3 he reads Giggle, Giggle, Quack and CLICK, CLACK, MOO Cows That Type back to me by remembered repetition. Now he watches the video while I make dinner. His favorites on this DVD are THE FOOLISH FROG which he sings constantly and The Three-Legged cat. Anytime someone comes over for a play date he asks to show them the video too. It is really wonderful.
