Giggling Elmo Hot Tomato Game

Our 4-year-old twin nieces absolutely love this game. It's most fun with 3 or more people. You turn on the giggles by pushing Elmo's nose, and then start tossing it to each other. The person who is holding it when it stops giggling "loses". Theoretically at that point the loser would leave the game, and play would continue until only one person hasn't lost, like musical chairs. But with our girls, we just started over with the same crowd. They were absolutely riveted. I think they'd have played it till bedtime if we'd let them.

The game helps youngsters with their motor skills (tossing, catching) and also with learning to tolerate losing. If you have a child who cannot bear to lose, this probably isn't a good game for you. Everybody loses at some point in this game! We just said, "Ohhhh" sympathetically and then started right back in. Worked for us.

The game includes a set of cards for older kids. When you start the game you choose a card, which has items of one color on them. I think the rule is you have to name an item similar to the ones on the card before you can get rid of Elmo.

Two thumbs up from us. We're planning to buy two more for our other nieces!

Such a big hit with my 4 year old that we took it to school, where it broke in a day. Teacher felt bad, and bought us a new one on Amazon. New one lasted less than 15 minutes on a playdate. Definately not worth it. You are throwing your money away on this toy.

My sons loved it while it worked. But they kept dropping it (once the thing starts giggling it is hard to hold on to), so it lasted for maybe a day. then it was worthless. So we never got to the game part of it.

The kids love it, it is reasonably priced, the batteries last a long time, and it is durable!

This toy was fun when it didn't break down. We did surgery on it, but to no avail. Not worth the money!

I ordered this for my daughter's birthday party but it did not last. I tried to troubleshoot but to no avail, it just wouldn't work. I contacted the manufacturer who sent me a replacement card shuffler. I would not suggest buying this product.

I purchased this for my 3yr old and after opening the box and playing 1 game she dropped it on the floor now it only giggles the shaking part is broken. I am very disappointed, knowing that this is a great game but broke so easily we cannot really enjoy it.

I purchased this for my 2 year old Elmo fanatic! He loves playing ball with it. We roll it back and forth and he thinks the wiggling is funny when it's rolling. Downside: my 2 year old cannot make it wiggle/giggle without my help because Elmo's nose needs to be pushed harder than a 2 year old is able to. If you're prepared to press the nose hundreds of times (ha ha), it'll be fun for your little one. My 4 year old is strong enough to press the nose for the wiggling/giggling action so I enlist her help when needed. :-)

My boys had a lot of fun with this! They liked tossing it around & my 4YO could play the "advanced" version of saying a item from the category before passing the tomato. For adults, the giggle is VERY annoying:-) But the kids think it is cute, and it was a game that we could play (and enjoy) as a family with my 2YO. There aren't too many of those!

EDITED TO ADD: Broken after 3 games. Changed batteries & that wasn't it. Bummer product because it was fun. But I wouldn't buy it for 3 games!

This toy was broken in less than a week. 2 year old son got it as a Christmas present and we already threw the box away. We are tryiing to find a number to get it replaced.
