The former owner of the home we bought a few years ago had installed sunblocking film over all the windows on the south and west sides of the house. After more than a year of scraping the smelly film off with razor blades we were gleeful to find Gila Film Solution - and then we were very disappointed to discover it did nothing on our film. We might has well sprayed with vinegar. Maybe it works with other films but not ours.

I bought this despite reading the bad reviews and I gotta say-- it may be mostly water but it got the job done. Its not a miracle cure, it took some elbow grease, but in the end I was able to remove 3 privacy filmed window treatments that had been on the windows for several years without too much fuss. The trick is to get to where you can rip the film off and then get to work on the adhesive-- the first part takes some muscle but the adhesive came off clean once it was soaked down.

Umm..It didn't work. I am trying to find something to remove some old window tint from a window. I began to peel it away on my own and some of the tint still stays when the plastic is off. It's a mess and this didn't really help. I will try again in the spring when it is warmer. Will that make a difference?

Also, the first bottle broke during shipping. I told UPS to send it back but they did not, because I got an e-mail from Amazon telling me they were still waiting to receive the old product. Luckily after I explained that it was probably too messy for them to ship back since the box was soaked with product , Amazon waived any fees associated with the whole mishap.

Unfortunately, it was a lot of hoopla to go through for something that didn't do anything.

Boy, does this stuff ever work! I was not happy with the film left on my car windows when I removed the tint from them (Not something I wanted to do, mind you. I had to take it off, because apparently the tint level was less than legal.). I tried several products I already had around the house, as well as razor blades, but to no avail. After reading the included instructions and then following them, this stuff worked like magic. I mean, the glue film loosened up and just scraped right off, as close to effortlessly as you can ever expect. And the price I paid for it was a great value as well. Great purchase.

My window film had been on for 5 years. Cats had put some scratches in it and it started to bubble from the sun. I needed to replace. It really was breeze to remove with this product. Not as time consuming as I felt the instructions made it out to be. Lightly taped a garbage bag around each window for 5-10 min(this just keeps it from drying up too fast), and whalaa..... perfect removal with the scraper.

This works great to get the film off the windows. I tried getting the film off without buying this and it was a disaster. This made it so quick and easy!!
