This shock is one of the few left for a 1 inch steer tube. I have an older GT and was forced into this shock. While it's a very basic spring loaded shock, with no lockout feature, it does surprisingly well. I ride pretty nasty trails once a week and the shock has yet to dissappoint. No, it's not going to respond like a $600 shock, but then it isn't $600 either. Overall, a good basic shock for those of us holding on to those old mountain bikes.

I purchased these to replace my rigid front forks on my old Diamond Back Ascent EX. They work well for everyday use and trail ridding on rough dirt tracks. They do exactly what I need them to do and have been satisfied with their overall quality and usability.
