5.0 out of 5 stars An absolute must, August 29, 2006
This review is from: Gilbert Guide: Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex Edition (Paperback)
We've been searching for something for my mother and an elderly friend; both of whom may soon be in need of something other than their own homes, but still retaining a degree of independence.

After visiting several facilities, browsing many web sites and talking to any of our friends that had information; we learned of the Gilbert Guide. Wow, what an eye opener! Tons of information and well organized. This one book will, conservatively, save us dozens, if not hundreds, of hours of work.

Sure, we still need to do our due diligence, but now we have a road map. We can build a plan of attack, weigh our alternatives and make an informed and confident decision.

If you doubt me, please look at a copy, I bet you'll be delighted, just as we are.

3.0 out of 5 stars A few shortcomings, October 27, 2006
By
This review is from: Gilbert Guide: Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex Edition (Paperback)
This is a valuable guide for finding information regarding health care facilities in the metroplex, but the book suffers from lack of an index. I found myself going through it page by page to find what I was searching for. Some facilities in Richardson, McKinney, and Denton are located in the "Dallas" section; other facilities in Richardson and Plano are located in the "North Dallas" section. An index would have helped solve the confusion. Also, the raters include few,if any, negative comments regarding the facilities, even those that received only a 2 or 3 "star" rating in certain areas.
