I found Gilbert's law summary on torts to be the most user-friendly study aid that I've encountered as a 1L! The book has several convenient timesaving features, like the "Text Correlation Chart" at the beginning that lists course topics with their Gilbert's page numbers and their associated page numbers in every major casebook (so simple, but no other aids do this!).

The practice questions and answers are also really insightful. By reviewing Gilbert's questions you can practice multiple choice, true/false, and essay questions on theories, laws, and tons of hypos - no matter what style exam your professor favors, you'll be able to practice it with this aid. The answers provided are easy to understand, and easy to apply to hypos in the future.

Also, while the book is clear and organized into outline format, it is still visually interesting: tables summarize the crucial information, flow charts illustrate the process for approaching each tort, and smaller symbols are used throughout the book to identify examples, comparisons, and exam tips. After reading casebooks and other class materials all semester, Gilbert's visually stimulating layout helps keep the concepts simple and the sections engaging. I've already recommended this aid to my 1L friends, and I'd definitely recommend it to other 1Ls taking torts!

The material in this book is easy to follow clearly legal concepts easy to address. Well worth the time and money.
