Editorial Reviews

Gilby Clarke, the six-stringed spark that kept Guns N' Roses fire burning after their near break-up in 1991, has been thrust into the spotlight once again after starring with bandmates Tommy Lee (drummer, Motley Crue) and Jason Newsted (bassist, Metallica) in the CBS reality show Rock Star: Supernova. Gilby served a three year tour of duty as guitarist for this rock 'n' roll outfit called Guns N' Roses. Post-Guns, Gilby went on to work with Slash's Snakepit and the garage-rocking Col.Parker with former Stray Cat Slim Jim Phantom. With such an acclaimed past, the time has come for an album that gives fans the best of Gilby's acclaimed career. This self-titled CD features 14 of Gilby's biggest hits - remixed and remastered. It also includes a version of the Pawnshop Guitars hit 'Black' featuring vocals by Rock Star: Supernova finalist and favorite Dilana.

For those who are only familiar with Clarke from his most recent work with Rock Star Supernova, this self-titled "best of" is a great introduction to his brand of stonesy, raw, rock n'roll. This compilation includes 14 of Clarke's best, including tracks from Pawnshop Guitars, The Hangover, Rubber, Swag and Col. Parker's, Rock N' Roll Music - the critically acclaimed album with former Stray Cat, Slim Jim Phantom. The record also includes a new version of the song "Black" with vocals by Rock Star Supernova finalist, Dilana Smith.

Gilby Clarke is such an amazing musician!
This CD is a good overview about his musical career!
He should do more solo projects.
Fantastic Hard Rock!
If anyone likes it the same as me he should also hear the Guns N Roses - albums and the album from the new group Rockstar: Supernova with the fantastic Jason Newsted and a middle-rate singer.
Btw: The CD was worth buying in the USA and waiting 5 weeks to be here in Germany ;-)
