Should I use Gillette Clinical Strength differently?

1. Apply Gillette Clinical Strength at bedtime to minimize excess nighttime perspiration. An additional morning application is not necessary; you will be protected throughout the day, even if you bathe or shower after application. If you neglect to apply it at night, morning application will still provide strong protection.
2. Gillette Clinical Strength should be applied according to your personal needs. A light layer is recommended, and three clicks per arm is the average. But because Gillette Clinical Strength is so gentle on your skin, you may apply as much as you feel is necessary.
3. Most men find the nighttime application sufficient to control excessive wetness for the following day. However, if you feel more protection is needed, a morning reapplication of Gillette Clinical Strength, or the use of another anti-perspirant, is acceptable.

How is Gillette Clinical Strength better than a prescription underarm product?
Many prescription strength anti-perspirants contain the active ingredient aluminum chloride. Aluminum chloride is more acidic than the active ingredient in Gillette Clinical Strength. Research has shown that anti-perspirants which contain aluminum chloride can be irritating to the underarm skin. In fact, the skin irritation is often so severe that discontinued use is required. In addition, aluminum chloride can be damaging to some clothing, often causing staining and/or discoloration.

Gillette Clinical Strength was tested in two 10-day clinical studies against a current marketed prescription anti-perspirant. Subjects had product applied to their underarms everyday for nine days. Both products were applied at bedtime as current marketed prescription products instruct to "apply at night." In both studies, Gillette Clinical Strength performed significantly better than the prescription product for providing wetness protection throughout the study. Overall, the clinical studies resulted in Gillette Clinical Strength providing 34-percent better wetness protection than a prescription product.

Why do we perspire?
Sweating is your bodys way of releasing excess heat and cooling itself. Sweating is natural under any condition, but sweating can be intensified by any number of elements, including warm weather, exercise and stress.

How much perspiration is too much?

How does anti-perspirant work?
Anti-perspirants use sweat against itself. Once applied, the anti-perspirant is dissolved by sweat, and the dissolved anti-perspirant particles form superficial plugs just below the skins surface. These plugs block the release of more perspiration. Generally, the plugs will stay in place for about 24 hours and are then washed away over time.

If sweating is natural, will this product be too strong and affect my body's ability to cool itself?
Absolutely not! Reducing sweating in the underarm has virtually no effect on the body's ability to cool itself. The number of sweat glands in the underarms represents a very small area of the body. There are many sweat glands on other parts of your body. So, the vast majority of your body heat is released from other parts of your body.

I've had a difficult time locating an anti-perspirant deodorant that would do the trick. For years (since about age 15 - I'm 42 now) I've found few (Mitchum has been the closest to a good daily product for me) anti-perspirant products that have even come close to helping me with wetness and odor control, until now.

Gillette Clinical Strength is a great product. I use it at night before bed (currently battling perimenopausal night sweats), and then in the morning when I go to the gym I have the option to re-apply it or not. It works THAT well! It is tough to shave your underarm after applying this stuff (makes the underarm tacky, providing a wetness barrier), but it does what it promises, and keeps wetness and odor under control.

I like the fresh scent. Some women may find it too masculine, but for me, it's simply a 'clean' scent that softens as you wear it. I don't find it competing with my perfume and haven't noticed it to be overpowering.

Because the product is a cream that comes up out of a tube through many small holes, it is easy to roll out too much. I have had problems with over-application and feel like I wasted some that way. Just be aware of this, and roll up only a small amount at a time when using it.

The product isn't invisible and will get on your clothes if you're not careful. Again, a small amount is really all you need to apply, and to avoid this problem, use a small amount.

I lucked out and found this product at a local closeout store for 80% off. I can honestly say that if I can't find it there again, I will buy it at full-price because for me, it works so well. I no longer worry about 'pitting out' my clothing or offensive odors from my armpits.

I was a little skeptical when ordering this product but was so tired of being sweaty all the time that I decided to give it a shot anyway. I'm glad I did because it worked just as advertised!

I put 2 clicks of the anti-perspirant under each arm before bed and the next day I don't break a sweat until my cardio training each evening. Even then, the amount of perspiration is incredibly light given the intensity of my workout.

I highly recommend this product to anyone who sweats excessively.

I have had trouble recently with reaction to several brands of anti-perspirant. I bought this Gillete solid a couple of months ago in the hopes of getting some relief. I am an active guy and work out 5 or more times per week. I also work long hours at a desk and need something that can keep me halfway fresh with these activities. I have found that this product works very well. It is strong, so strong in fact that I can use it every other day at times depending on my activity level. It does not give you that uncomfortable dry and impossible to wash feeling under the arms. At the same time, it keeps me dry. It does not have a strong scent at all so look elsewhere or add an aftershave if you are looking to smell good. Most importantly for me, I have not reacted at all to this product. Summary - it has worked very well for me and I recommend it to you. Cheers.
