5.0 out of 5 stars Works well, smells good; for men and women
I've had a difficult time locating an anti-perspirant deodorant that would do the trick. For years (since about age 15 - I'm 42 now) I've found few (Mitchum has been the closest to a good daily product for me) anti-perspirant products that have even come close to helping me with wetness and odor control, until now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works well, smells good; for men and women, May 20, 2010
This review is from: Gillette Clinical Strength Advanced Solid Anti-Perspirant, All Day Fresh, 1.7-Ounce Stick (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty)

Gillette Clinical Strength is a great product. I use it at night before bed (currently battling perimenopausal night sweats), and then in the morning when I go to the gym I have the option to re-apply it or not. It works THAT well! It is tough to shave your underarm after applying this stuff (makes the underarm tacky, providing a wetness barrier), but it does what it promises, and keeps wetness and odor under control.

I like the fresh scent. Some women may find it too masculine, but for me, it's simply a 'clean' scent that softens as you wear it. I don't find it competing with my perfume and haven't noticed it to be overpowering.

Because the product is a cream that comes up out of a tube through many small holes, it is easy to roll out too much. I have had problems with over-application and feel like I wasted some that way. Just be aware of this, and roll up only a small amount at a time when using it.

The product isn't invisible and will get on your clothes if you're not careful. Again, a small amount is really all you need to apply, and to avoid this problem, use a small amount.

I lucked out and found this product at a local closeout store for 80% off. I can honestly say that if I can't find it there again, I will buy it at full-price because for me, it works so well. I no longer worry about 'pitting out' my clothing or offensive odors from my armpits.

I was a little skeptical when ordering this product but was so tired of being sweaty all the time that I decided to give it a shot anyway. I'm glad I did because it worked just as advertised!

I put 2 clicks of the anti-perspirant under each arm before bed and the next day I don't break a sweat until my cardio training each evening. Even then, the amount of perspiration is incredibly light given the intensity of my workout.

I highly recommend this product to anyone who sweats excessively.

5.0 out of 5 stars Strong but Easy on the Pits, August 3, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have had trouble recently with reaction to several brands of anti-perspirant. I bought this Gillete solid a couple of months ago in the hopes of getting some relief. I am an active guy and work out 5 or more times per week. I also work long hours at a desk and need something that can keep me halfway fresh with these activities. I have found that this product works very well. It is strong, so strong in fact that I can use it every other day at times depending on my activity level. It does not give you that uncomfortable dry and impossible to wash feeling under the arms. At the same time, it keeps me dry. It does not have a strong scent at all so look elsewhere or add an aftershave if you are looking to smell good. Most importantly for me, I have not reacted at all to this product. Summary - it has worked very well for me and I recommend it to you. Cheers.

I like using this type of deodorant due to it is very long lasting. I work out all the time and work up a pretty good sweat and usually do errands around the house before I shower. The deodorant still goes on strong! A normal day of running around the city and travelling and my underarms feel very comfortable. I recommend this for the active individual who's always on the go!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best OTC Antiperspirant available., December 15, 2010

I've been using this stuff for years now and I have to say that although I have strayed a few times and tried competing products, this one still remains the best. I perspire a lot. I have a condition called hyperhydrosis. Basically, that means I perspire a lot. The Gillette Odor Shield Smells great, feels fresh and clean, doesn't irritate my skin and is so powerful that you could even miss a day. Highly recommended for everyone!

4.0 out of 5 stars Best deodorant ever!!!!, August 11, 2010

Two words: Kick @ss!!! It smells fresh and clean, it doesn't stain your clothes and it lasts a REALLY looooooooong time. My only complaint is that every new dispenser is never filled completely. There is a lot of empty space at the top and you have to turn the dial quite a bit before the deodorant comes out. I always feel like I'm getting ripped off a little bit. Especially considering how expensive this stuff is. It's kind of lame. Other than that, awesome!

4.0 out of 5 stars Effective, Transparent, and Pleasant, May 13, 2009
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
This is one of the best anti-perspirants I've ever used. Unfortunately, the price is quite high and I can't imagine spending around $10 for a single stick.

The product goes on smoothly and doesn't chalk up like competitive products. It was absolutely effective for me for 24 hours. The instructions advise putting it on the night before; I tried using it in the evening and starting off with it in the daytime, but didn't notice a significant difference.

The product has a pleasant and extremely subtle scent. You'll know that that you're wearing it when you've just applied it, but it definitely won't overpower any cologne or perfume you might be using.

Overall, this I found Gillette's Clinical Strength Anti-perspirant to be an effective and smooth product. It's just expensive compared to its competitors.

These type of antiperspirant are bad because the work too well. After Using these over a few months my arm pits became infected. When I saw the doctor and he asked about deodorants, it was apparent to him what had caused my pits to become infected. It was basically because the antiperspirant does not let your pits sweat at all, that they are basically blocking your the sweat glands which can lead to an infection.

It may be different for, but for me I sweat easily despite being skinny, and non clinical strength ones do not work as well/barely for sweating. So use at your own risk/are not as often as you would with normal onces, I would advise everyone, from personal experience to not use these at all. Having effects in your pits suck.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stands up to the champ!, November 15, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
First of all, let me tell you about why I am uniquely qualified to review this product. I am a 3-time Olympic Gold medalist in the Armpit Sweating event (with my late teammate Franz "The Hungarian Horse" Kozslo). I have competed in sweating events in 5 continents. In 1994, as a High School senior, I set a world record in the open division of Sweat Volume, 1-hour class (322.6 cc).

My armpits, nicknamed "Thunder" and "Storm", respectively, have reduced lesser anti-perspirants to rubble. They can burn holes through 3 layers of clothes, flame-retardant or otherwise.

Until they met the glorious power of Gillette Clinical Strength. They leave my pits begging for mercy, confused and packing home to momma. Plus it smells great.

Once again another clinical-strength deodorant with the sticky white residue mess. Prepare to stain both the inside & outside of ur clothing, but if u sweat profusely like I do, you don't have much of a choice vs regular pitstick.
