Book Description

9 and upGilmore Girls
"We have buried the putrid corpse of liberty."
-- Benito Mussolini

It's not like I'm surprised my mom picked the Mussolini quote for her wedding invitation. She's never been what one would call "conventional." I was a little surprised (but happy) when she agreed to marry my English teacher, Max Medina. Which makes my summer even busier -- with my classes at Chilton, the wedding planning, and, as Paris so efficiently pointed out, about ten years of extracurricular activities to catch up on, it makes me wonder: whatever happened to the good ol' days of summer loving, had me a blast?

4.0 out of 5 stars The same spirit of the show..., July 7, 2004
This review is from: Gilmore Girls: I Do, Don't I? (Mass Market Paperback)
I usually like to read books that are exciting and unexpected; things that you NEVER know would happen.

I pretty much blew all those things away by reading the Gilmore Girls series. I've seen all the shows (no kidding- my friends and I should form a club... or perhaps a cult) and NOTHING is a surprise any more. Max Medina? Old news.

But... there is a shortage of Gilmore Girls reruns where I live. And reading the book is almost exactly like seeing the show... you can practically hear Rory and Lorelai talking as you read the dialogue...

If you're a Gilmore fan, get the book. Makes you understand just a bit more... but if you haven't seen the show, I wouldn't recommend it. See the show, THEN read the book.

But even I'M not sure if the Cheshire Cat's horror can properly be conveyed through a book. Seeing is believing. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars funny and well-written just like the TV show, September 6, 2002

This review is from: Gilmore Girls: I Do, Don't I? (Mass Market Paperback)
Grown up fans will like this book just as much as teenagers. The writing style is simple and beautifully conveys the feel of the show.

The book covers Rory's attempt to get extra curricular credit to get into Harvard; Max and the wedding plans; the B&B and the visit to Harvard; and Lane's trip to Korea. Along the way, Dean, Michel, Luke, Miss Patty, Sookie, Paris and, of course, Emily and Richard (the rich grandparents).

5.0 out of 5 stars For all those Gilmore Girls fans, February 26, 2008
This review is from: Gilmore Girls: I Do, Don't I? (Mass Market Paperback)
The Gilmore Girls Books are a great complement to the show, specially for fans like me who cannot stop watching the show. The Books are write down as if Rory Gilmore were telling you Her story.
