4.0 out of 5 stars REAL QUALITY
This is a quality item, with all the features even the pro's can appreciate. This thing even tells you when it's at the ideal working pressure, via a gage on the relief valve.Right out of the box this unit went to work, without as much as a stray dribble. The nozzle is adjustable from stream to spray so, it will reach into the tight spots, no problem. If you ever need parts...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not very impressed
sprayer arrived today so I loaded it up with water and pumped it up, worked very nice. When i started to spray the trigger mechanism was leaking all over my hand. I attempted the tricks in the instructions and none helped, this dribbled a constant stream of water over my hand. Not acceptable for spraying poison. I will be sending this one back.

I do recommend this tool. It's priced right and has all the bells and whistles too. Now get out there and control those weeds

5.0 out of 5 stars Best I've ever owned., April 10, 2004

I've gone through a few sprayers over the years, usually getting whatever was at Home Depot of Ace Hardware. For the price, this is the best one I've owned, BY FAR. Excellent heavy duty construction, metal wand, carrying handle (so you don't use the pump handle), and pressure relieve valve. Excellent workmanship and works like a dream You won't be sorry if you get this product.

This is one of the most used tools in our lawn care arsenal. It is very easy to use and doesn't get too heavy to carry when full. We use this for spraying weed killer on spots in the yard and for spraying insecticide both in and out of the house. We may not use it everyday, but it is sure handy to have. It certainly helps us out by saving us the cost of hiring an exterminator. Its stream can be adjusted from a spray mist to a solid stream so it can reach behind or under anything an exterminator's spray could get to. This is a really good product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Needs user modifications to work correctly !!!, August 2, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Gilmour 2000P Premium 2-Gallon Traditional Sprayer, Teal (Lawn & Patio)
Upon receiving the sprayer I assembled it per the instructions and proceeded to test it by using it to just spray water. Having tried to fix several sprayers recently I know better than to use a new sprayer the first time to spray insecticidal soap or chemicals without first having tested it out just spraying clean water. The sprayer failed miserably with leaks coming from the trigger and sprayer wand connections all over my hand. I tightened all connections with a pair of pliers and still leaks. At this stage the sprayer was headed for a single star rating and a return to Amazon.

Luckily there's a simple fix, and that is to use Teflon tape on the threads of the two plastic nut connections between the sprayer trigger and the bronze wand (basic plumbing 101 leak elimination technique). The owner's guide refers to one of these as the extension cap and rod, see Fig 5. But does not mention a second plastic nut connection right off the trigger which in fact holds a small filter inside. Once this simple modification was made the sprayer worked like a champ without leaks and became a keeper.

I've only given the sprayer 4 stars because of this basic defect which the manufacturer could easily resolve using the Teflon tape solution. They should at the very least mention this as a fix for the leak problem in their user's guide. Another drawback as others have mentioned is the fact that the tank is not translucent, but in my opinion this is not a big deal because even with the translucent tanks it's hard to gage the water level from the outside. As for the sprayer itself it appears to perform as expected and my favorite part of it is the hefty carrying handle design which is a great improvement over those that just use the usually wimpy pump handle as also a carrying handle.

This appears to be a very good sprayer, but it is not translucent so you cannot see the level of liquid from the outside. Also, it is cheaper at Lowes ($30), so I would not buy it here.

This sprayer is fantastic compared to the various models from RL Flomaster which did not even last through a season. It's solidly built and super easy to use. It pressurizes without much effort and there is no leaking from the nozzle. This product is made to last but if you ever need a replacement part just call the 800 number and order. I am glad I bought this.

After 5 times of use the sprayer will not hold the air when pumped. You can hear it coming out but I can't tell from where.

1.0 out of 5 stars What all the positive reviews neglect to mention., April 20, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Gilmour 2000P Premium 2-Gallon Traditional Sprayer, Teal (Lawn & Patio)
Let me start with the positives. This sprayer is constructed from fairly high quality material. However, this doesn't mean it was designed from high quality engineering. And because it fails to function *in the way it's supposed to function*, I can't give this product more than 1 star despite its use of quality materials.

What all the positive reviewers forget to mention is that the tension mechanism designed to hold the (high quality) brass spraying wand is *VERY POORLY* engineered. A few other reviews have mentioned that if it isn't tightened "just right" then the liquid being sprayed (poison, weed killer, other liquids you don't want on your skin) squirts out everywhere.

In addition, the poor design of the wand securing mechanism makes it hard to angle the tip of the wand at an optimal angle to the way your hand naturally holds the spray trigger. You have to turn the tension mechanism securing the wand to the spray trigger so tight that it rotates the wand itself, so your once perfect tip angle is rotated pointing up now.

Lastly, even after tightening the tension mechanism as tight as it would go w/o breaking the plastic mechanism itself, the wand very often comes loose and flies off easily as you swing your arms side to side in a normal spraying motion. This happened to me twice and both times, it wasted A LOT of weed killer as it gushed out of the trigger handle because the wand flew off completely. And, NO, I did not use excessive swinging movements as I sprayed, just normal movements.

This is a major engineering flaw which makes this sprayer somewhat dangerous to operate (imagine swinging the wand and having the brass wand hit someone in the face while spewing poisonous liquid all over them), which is the reason why I gave this only 1 star and returned it. It has just 1 flaw, but it is a MAJOR ONE.

The second flaw is that the green plastic container is not semi-transparent enough for you to gauge how much liquid is inside it. This flaw I could've lived with, but the poorly engineered mechanism used to secure the brass wand onto the plastic trigger is so bad that is a DEAL BREAKER, esp for a product of this price.
