Water a budding plot of new grass or young trees and shrubs with this handy soaker hose from Gilmour. The 50-foot hose disperses water through three parallel tubes to provide an even spray for thirsty lawns and gardens. Plus, it has a white stripe to help users with proper hose arrangement and attachment to spigots and accessories.

Gilmour created the soaker hose in reinforced vinyl to combat scrapes, warping from sun exposure, and other weather-related damage. The lightweight hose is malleable for easy coiling and requires minimal storage space. The hose features sturdy brass couplings on both ends of the hose and a removable end cap facilitates thorough flushing. Gilmour offers a lifetime replacement policy and will replace unsatisfactory products within their typical lifespan free of charge. This item weighs 2.82 pounds upon shipping. --Jessica Reuling

Customer Reviews

Purchased 2 of these hoses, both have sprung leaks after a couple of uses.
Doug S. Richeson
I would imagine that those holes will continue to get bigger and then the rest of the hose won't receive enough water to make it useful.
M. Tollefson
It was unable to withstand the water pressure supplied by the city I live in.

This is a good hose and just what I need for a long section of the yard. It's pretty to watch the water plume about; and the birds like it. BUT, when turning on the water, the water must be turned on slowly to allow each of the three tubes to inflate. Each time, turn the water on slowly until the hose has time to properly expand. That way, the holes won't enlarge. Also, after turning the water on slowly, increase the pressure just enough to water the area without putting too much pressure on the holes. This hose is indeed a cheaper hose; but it seems to be one of the only ones available these days. Good luck with this hose, which requires a slow and patient hand.

UPDATE-the hose has sprung several leaks; so even when you're careful, this hose is inadequate. If a company goes to all the trouble to produce a product, why not go ahead and do a good job. This hose is a waste of effort, resources, time, and money.

The hose started out working great, but within 2 days a few of the holes at the beginning and end of the hose got so large that they cause flooding near those areas.

I really liked this hose at first and actually ordered another one. After about 2 weeks of use however, the little holes at the beginning of the hose started getting bigger from the water pressure. Now I have to watch for the position of the hose because it's spraying a much wider area now at that point. I would imagine that those holes will continue to get bigger and then the rest of the hose won't receive enough water to make it useful.

The hose lasted 2 hours and then split right down the middle. Two weeks ago I purchased a 50 foot hose from the same company and it lasted 2 days. I have never seen any cheaper plastic in my 84 years on this planet. The Gilmore advertises that if a customer is unhappy he should send the product back and they will replace it at no cost. How about the shipping cost. If these two hoses are an indication of the products from Gilmore my advice is to disassociate from them completely.

Worked fine for the first month and a half then developed holes that sprayed large areas and reduced the pressure in the rest of the hose so they no longer sprayed an even pattern.

I have owned this brand of hose for 18 years, and over the years replaced it twice. I am particularly fond of its wide path of even distribution for flower beds, vegetable gardens, and even the parkway lawn close to the curb that dries out so fast with summer sun. I usually set it up once for the season with pins to keep in place and put it away in the fall.

My only complaint is that it is difficult to store, so I usually keep it in a trash can for the next year. I tend to replace every 5-7 years. This year the hose is not available at the local stores that carried it in the past, so I purchased another brand that claims to be a sprinkler hose. Just installed it--and it is awful. Ordering my replacement on line today.

Update. My replacement host arrived and I can already see that there is a manufacturing issue that likely is the cause of the many complaints. They have replaced the fabrication with a vinyl like one would see in shower curtains. Oh NO! There is no way this will hold up to daily water pressure, and no one at Gilmore would ever convince me that any tests of the newer version were done to assure it would be durable enough. Sorry to see that yet another company that has had a great product has screwed it up in Taiwan. I will be surprised if it works for a week.

Update one year later. Much to my surprise, this hose worked throughout most of the season but developed a small tear due to water pressurejust before the season ended. I will reorder it.

I have been using Gilmour 3-tube soaker/sprinkler hoses for a number of years with moderate success. I recently purchased 20 more 50-foot soaker hoses to replace some old ones. About a third of the new hoses immediately developed large holes near the connectors where the three tubes are cut to form a single tube to attach to the connectors. If the hoses make it through the first use, they seem to be OK. Gilmour needs better quality control in their manufacturing process.

There's a new version of this hose. Changed are the crimped hose ends which now provide proper stress relief. Also changed is the material the hose is made from which is now dark green and opaque. Gilmour must have had many failures with the old design.

This is a review of the older clear green vinyl design (avoid like the plague!)

Warning: you must prefix this type of sprinkler hose with a hose pressure regulator otherwise the orifices may widen resulting in a pressure loss that causes the hose not to function.

Pros:

- spray pattern is nice (while it lasts). Far superior to the other two sprinkler hoses I tried out.
- free replacement policy (lifetime guarantee). You're gonna need it!

Cons:

- terrible tech support - emails completely ignored (phone them to arrange replacement to get the mailing address)

- 3 channel design creates a major stress fracture where the hose widens to one channel to fit onto hose coupler. The vinyl always tears in this spot and then the hose is useless.

- the hose is very stiff and hard to lay out in a straight line stripe side up
- equally hard to wind up and store (it needs to include a plastic winding reel)

1/5 stars is really too generous. Gilmour products in general are great but the old version of this hose which is still on store shelves is a total flop.
