Better than expected..,

While this sprinkler needs sufficent water pressure to function properly, and I've only had it for 2-3 weeks, for the price it is a quality product that is exceedingly better than the $30+ garbage that you will find in Home Depot or Sears. Covers a hude radius. Customer service was excellent, for when I emailed them to try to determine the difference between this model and the model 999TP, they emailed me back the same day and advised that the TP is the same product but is sold to retailers in packages of 6. After reading the negative reviews on the TP model about feet bending, the sprinkler collapsing and disintegrating the first time they used it, I spent the extra $10 to get a second TD1 model, but cannot imagine that happening to either model, even if there is a difference. My only complaint is that the threads on the plastic coupler where you attach the hose can be easily stripped by the metal male end of the hose, so either avoid overtightening the hose or buy a plastic adapter with a shoutoff valve for $3, the shut-off valve on the adapter comes in handy when you have to move it. A lifetime replacement guarantee can't hurt, either.

This sprinkler was purchased for my vegetable garden. It does well as long as there is not more than 100 ft of hose and if it is very level. I have not had success adjusting the spray to a more of a mist. But when working properly it can cover a large area quickly.

Solid well built and user friendly Tripod Sprinkler,

I saw a number of products on Amazon.com and read the reviews on them. Most claimed that it was stable, did not fall over, and was working well over many years.
That was what I wanted. It arrived within 3 days. I tried it out and it was perfect. Should be good for many years. Needs a rubber hose washer where it connects to the hose and does not leak.

Great coverage and a good design. The tripod adjusts and the spray is adjustable. The coverage is very good. I'm using mine through almost 200 feet of 5/8" hose and it functions very well. I should point out that I have lots of water pressure. All in all, compared to the major manufacturer of this type of sprinkler head, it's a steal when compared to their top dog and it has more coverage.

Good quality product. The coupler however is plastic and most garden hoses have brass couplers. Not a good match. Great care needs to be taken so as not to strip the plastic coupler threads on the sprinkler.

Forget about in-ground sprinklers that cost thousands,

I bought the Gilmour extra large coverage sprinkler, and I could NOT be happier. It covers an area of more than a 50foot radius, and can reach from the far side of my driveway to the opposite direction to cover my flowers. I was getting estimates for an in-ground sprinkler system which were in the range of $5000!!!!! This sprinkler is not only efficient and much less expensive, it is moveable--I can carry it into my back yard when I want to water that area!!!

Hey, this is a good buy. I bought two of them for my wife's horse arena. They are steady and cast water just as far as they say. I have seen similar ones and they are flimisy, fall over and don't throw water as far as these do. She is so happy with them she is watering all the weeds that usually die in the summer so I now have to mow them. I can't wait to see my power bill from running the well all day long. So in the long run these are not recommended for wifes that don't understand how much it costs to run a well. Good Luck. Really these are a good deal.

I ordered two of these units to use on an acre lot I just cleared and seeded.
They are more expensive than other sprinklers but have a minimum of cheap plastic parts. I have used them for a month now and they are doing the job splendidly. No sticking, no falling over, no nuttin but water, water everywhere. You get what you pay for. Most of the time anyway. Gary Hutchinson

Didn't go the full diameter but is still heavy duty,
This review is from: Gilmour Extra Large Coverage Sprinkler with Adjustable Tripod Base 199TRI1 (Lawn & Patio)
I will start off by saying that if you are looking for a heavy duty sprinkler, you would be hard pressed to find a heavier duty one than this one. Yes the feet are plastic and that COULD be a problem in the future but I don't think the feet alone will bring this puppy down. They hold it stead enough as far as I can tell. And this thing thrusts pretty hard so that is a actually saying a lot. This sprinkler is to other sprinklers what a fire hose is to a water hose. Lots of metal used (other than the feet as I stated). My only complaint is that it did not reach the full 106 foot diameter on my water pressure which is not lousy but not the best. It was around 90 feet give or take a few feet. But it was solid coverage for every inch. It is rare to need this size of diameter in your yard, but if you do need it, this one delivers.

So I have owned this sprinkler for about a year and a half {gone through 2 summers in wisconsin} I had to seed a new yard for my house and this thing worked great, I ran a 3/4'' hose to it and would run it for sometimes a couple hours a day. So far no issues with rusting rivets like some other reviews said, I actually have not had any issues with it for both summers, the only thing I wish it had was maybe aluminum spikes for the legs instead of plastic, when the ground is dry and hard it is hard to spike the legs into the ground. I am always worried I am going to break one off {so far I have not} you just have to be careful when setting it. Otherwise I am very happy with its performance and durability.
