Its oscillation is so slow at either end that it absolutely drowns the patch of grass/plants unfortunate enough to be there. That is, of course, assuming that it actually oscillates back to the other side. Terrible.

plastic junk,

If you want a dependable sprinkler, stick to metal. I wish I had. I picked this one because you can adjust the spray width easily. However, you'll pay the piper for using plastic. The hose connection fitting will wear more easily and begin to leak. The arm movement will drive you to frustration. Sometimes it will follow the selected pattern; many times, however, it will not and you will have to rotate the selection knob again. Lastly, the width adjustment will begin to wear and will not lock in place. Bottom line: spend a few more bucks and go metal.

Mixed feelings...,

I've had two of these sprinklers (from Home Depot) and have mixed feelings on them.Pros: 1. Very adjustable - three different settings will cover my whole backyard without watering the patio too much (would be nice to have a larger patio but I don't think water will do it!!). 2. Waters well - no puddling problems here 3. Quiet Cons: 1. Very difficult to adjust the width - flimsy plastic makes me cautious to exert too much pressure lest I break the plastic 2. On both sprinklers, the long tube that fits in the slot (away from the hose end) has lost its end cap. I contacted the company for a replacement and was sent the wrong thing. So I got a 2nd sprinkler. Well, the end has come off this one also. Currently it's duct taped. The tape works OK but it still leaks and the tube does not stay in the slot. 3. Leaks where the hose connects. Now, granted, I don't use it gently - when not in use, it hangs by the hose on the fence and it doesn't get put away for the winter and I do drag it to change locations. With all that it has, I suppose, done well.

Tailor your watering area,

I love this sprinkler as one can tailor the area of watering very well. Both the controls - width and length of watering work very well and it is a life-saver as I do not believe in irrigation systems. The only drawback is that it takes a little time to get the hose connected to sprinkler. Also, the place for hose connection is made of plastic - that is where they generally break and become unusable - but that remains to be seen about the Gilmour!

Works Well - Adjustments are Inconvenient,
By Brad (Evergreen, CO United States) - See all my reviews 1. the width adjustments are difficult to change. You have to pinch two tabs and slide the adjuster which bends the flexible tube from which the water shoots out. I seem to have to pinch them very hard and I feel like I am going to break the plastic. 2. It is difficult to exactly adjust the range. This is very inconvenient compared to oscillators that have tabs on the side to control how far in one direction the sprinkler goes. This one has a dial that you have to set - and you have to do it before you turn the water on or you will get soaked because you can't rotate the sprinkler manually - it doesn't budge. So it's a bit of a crap shoot getting it to water exactly where you want it to. 3. It stops for a bit at each end of the oscillation resulting in more water being delivered in those spots than elsewhere.
