I have 100 roses that need spraying once a week; I've killed sprayers at a rather fast pace. This sprayer is well thought out and constructed. Ortho sprayers quality continue to plummet,more & more plastic (read easily broken)pieces undoubtedly from China.When I tried to contact them they passed me off to their non-communicative manufacturer,when I went back to Ortho they obviously would not stand behind a product with their name on it. This sprayer has been working out great, the mounting of the handle is perfect and makes for easy maneuvering. The wide mouth facilitates cleaning, a small filter prevents the clogging other sprayers experience. Only foreseeable problem is where the wand connects to the hose seems weak and vulnerable. I'm very happy with this purchase,has made this weekly chore doable once again. It's made in America & has a guarantee as well.

In the world of sprayers, cheap seems to be the common thread...cheap in price and cheap in quality. The Gilmour Premium Sprayer is about 3 times the usual price, but it is worth the extra expense. The feel of the materials used in the sprayer's construction is better than the usual filmsy plastic models. The sprayer has a comfortable handle. The 3 gallon capacity, while not enough to break your back, means fewer trips to prepare solution. The extra long hose and brass wand/valve illustrate the higher quality features on this model. I have had no leaks from the cap. I think this sprayer will last a long time, and I'm glad to have made the purchase.

Excellent product and operation. Solid-feel and dependable pressure pump, handy release pressure valve, large tank mouth opening, internal filter system, easy to disassemble, rugged design overall.
Critizism: No adequate holder for spray wand, When tank is full of liguid, handle sometimes slips out of round holes. Suggest "lock-in-place" when handle is lifted for carrying.
Own three of these sprayers and would buy another one. Very dependable.

This product delivers everything it advertises. Easy to use and rugged construction. I will get many years use from this one.

After looking at many different sprayers, this one is a keeper. Very easy to see liquid since it is clear. Nozzle does not clog as long as you do not leave sediment in the bottom after use and do not clean out. Used it for many chemicals for pond treatments and it works beautiful. Love the wide open mouth of the container. It minimizes the spillage when transfering liquids into the sprayer. Can't say enough good stuff about this product.

I bought this because of the good reviews but was totally disappointed with the one I received. After much frustration I got it to work by reversing the seal in the cap. It now holds pressure but is still a poor sprayer compared to others I have owned.

After having a little trouble getting this sprayer to seal, it worked great. It came with the main seal backwards. Who would have thought. The instructions didn't show which way the seal should be placed. I was getting ready to send it back and gave it one last chance; reversed the seal. That did it. It's fine.

Tired of cheap sprayers,I ordered the XP-30. Glad I did. It works very well. No problems with getting a seal. Pumps up quickly and holds pressure so much longer than my old sprayers. Spray pattern excellent. Primarily used to spray for weeds in lawn. Manual is poorly written but sprayer is easy to figure out. Bought this model because it has a strap. Strap helps, but is narrow for the weight of three gallons. Like wide mouth.

Sprayer arrived with a broken part. The wand end opposite the nozzle was crimped and a plastic retaining piece had cracked. The wand could not be attached. The manual had an insert saying to call Gilmour's 800 number and not return a defective unit to the store. Holding my breath, I called the number. They quickly got me to a service person who knew her product and promptly shipped the replacement part. No hassle, little time lost. I was impressed.

I spray roses with a pump sprayer in the spring when the growth is small, and with 75-some roses, need a reasonably good-sized pump sprayer. I bought the Gilmour for that purpose -- spraying a half-dozen times or so in the spring. The XP30 is a very well-made pump sprayer, but I had a little difficulty getting a seal. Needed to really crank down on the top to screw it down enough. Once sealed, it works very well. The handle is very "handy". I can get a fine mist with the nozzle, essential for spraying roses.

The only regret I have is that I should have bought the 2-gallon size. Since the 3-gallon is so well-built, it's a little heavy. I think I could have gotten by with only two gallons. That said, I'm pleased with the purchase.

As a homeowner, my previous sprayer experience has been limited to an Ortho 1-gallon unit with a plastic wand and nozzle. It leaked, had a poor spray pattern and a large variation in product distribution with pressure. This Gilmour XP30 far surpasses the Ortho product. It has a shoulder strap which makes it very comfortable to carry/use, even when full. The strap allows you to continue spraying while pumping to add pressure which is a great feature. That said, due to the size of this container, the pressure seems to hold up pretty well without requiring frequent pumping. In fact, when cleaning it, I'll pump it about 15 times at 1/2 full, lock on the sprayer and it will empty the tank. The brass nozzle provides a steady, durable and easily adjusted spray pattern, unlike the plastic nozzle on some units. Also, the sprayer manages to completely empty the container so there is almost no wasted product. I'm very impressed with the quality of this unit.
