Great German-Produced Japan-Pop,
By Michael (San Diego, California USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Gimme Gimme Gimme (Audio CD)
E-Rotic has always yielded some of the most consistent Euro-dance albums in the market. While the vocalist changes on every couple of albums, this group's brilliant production/writing team stays the same and continue their own magical brand of classic dance sounds. E-Rotic is produced in Germany, however, the group's main base of popularity is in Japan where the people really know good dance music. If you are a fan of E-Rotic, the "Gimme Gimme Gimme" album is a MUST-HAVE!! The one problem I have always had with E-Rotic is the fact that they love to fill the albums up with unenergizing ballads, and that is no different on this record; however, the bulk of their material is what I love - unadulterated dance floor mania. My favorite track on this album is a beautifully crafted piece of Euro-dance energy - IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT(#6). It is a terrific song that is backed by some excellent piano notes as well as the awesome vocalist. Other notables are GIMME GIMME GIMME(#1) which has that "classic" mid-90's E-Rotic sound, DON'T MAKE ME WET(#7)a slower Raggae-tinged song that flows so smoothly it'll make you really relax, TOUCH ME(#8) which is my second favorite track and, finally, the really classy DON'T GO(#9). Also, for fans of the older E-Rotic sound, I'M HORNY(#11) is a really nice track with a lot of that familiar moaning and sexual-innuendo. Take note that most of the other songs are slower and/or filler. E-Rotic continue to put out one album after another, and no wonder: they are the masters at what they do.

Emotional German Eurodance/Techno/Pop music.,
By andy (Cleveland, OH) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Gimme Gimme Gimme (Audio CD)
I actually have the German version of this album, with first track being the Incredibly emotional Euro song "Queen of Light". Otherwise the album is the same as the one I'm reviewing now.E-rotic released over 10 albums from mid 90's to present day. All are Great if you like Eurodance/Techno/Pop sound of the 90's (Female Vocals, Male Rap, Catchy Melody, Fast Techno Beat), and don't mind Simplistic Lyrics about Sex and Love. I think this is their 7th or 8th album, but not sure. This is probably the Least sexual album by E-rotic (along with "Sexual Madness" album, which was also Not as sexual in lyrics). I must also point out that there is a lot of female Moaning in E-Rotic albums. There is less in this one, which is good, because moaning becomes annoying after a while. Anyway, this is a great album, especially for those who like Eurodance/Pop sound of the 90's (Real McCoy, La Bouche, Ace of base). All music here is written by David Brandes and lyrics by John O'Flynn (E-Rotic's writers from the start, who also wrote some great songs for Bad Boys Blue and Chris Norman, 2 other German Pop performers who sing in English). All songs on this album have great melodies, and are filled with a lot of Emotion, and very Emotional Female vocals. Songs range from Hi NRG EuroDance/Techno... to a bit Slower more sensual songs (yet danceable)... to Euro-Reggae that's similar to Ace of Base. I find all songs here to be great or at least very good, except for the cheesy "Chico Chaco". It's OK, but a bit too cheesy. But maybe some people would like it more than I do. "In the Heat of the night" - this song has so much beauty and Emotion in its melody and lyrics. Very Powerful and Romantic song, Other songs here are very Emotional Dance with some Trance elements, they have catchy melodies and synths, female vocals, and some Male rap. Basically it's a Great Pop/Techno album with enough melody hooks and beats to keep you entertained all the way through.

Yes.. so it's a little perverted at times...*cough* but the words are not important.. the music and vocal talent of this artist is amazing! NO SONG on this albulm and other of her 30+ CDs are bad (with the exception of 3) ok? 3 songs that are less than perfect! and they're not even on this cd! out of 100+ songs! This artist is not for everyone however.. but if you like music you should like this CD! (also.. if you enjoy Dance Dance Revolution arcade game you should too!)

I love their music! It's not like anyone elses music. You can hear only a few seckonds of one of their tracks and you know that it's them. Anyway, I don't have this sample of ther records but my friend has it. (He orderd it from internet, and I can`t find the record here in Finland.) When we go anywhere in his car I want to listen to this record. It's just great!!!

Rare Euro-dance tunes,
By Mad Track (Cambridge, MA United States) - See all my reviews

Definitely a unique style of music. Very "dancible" to the beat and the mood is quite uplifting and powerfully sensual (hence the name of the group). Definately my favorite is "Don't make me wet." I don't know, but I start thinking about a sunny Carribean trip whenever I hear this song. That song is "slower" and easier to follow than fast-paced "Gimme Gimme Gimme" or "In the Heat of the Night." Some people say that the style is similar to a group called "Ace of Base" and I agree. As expected, the lyrics are quite suggestive. However, it is more sensual innuendo than explicit. It isn't offensive compare to today's expletives. There is no mention of the four letter word, no derogatory references to reproductive organs, and no profanity (i.e., b-es and a-s). A lot of reference to sex though, so not be for kids, and it can make some grown-ups uncomfortable. I recommend listening with a significant other to spice up the evening. Overall, a good collection of fast-paced, high-beating EURODANCE tracks.

This album is out of the ordinary. The tunes have a repetitive nature, but I still like it.It is a techno beat with a campy adult lyric. |
