I found a copy of this manga while looking through the shelves at my local library, and I checked it out to take a look at it.

Kohei Nagase is the main character of this series. He's a makeup and special effects artist who is able to come up with incredible makeup and special effects by using his special makeup tool. He helps to disguise his friends from their enemies and to get them through predicaments they may find themselves in. Unfortunately, there are also those people who try to take advantage of Kohei's skills for their own financial gain. Kohei has a muscle-bound sidekick named Kaminazuki.

Gimmick! had an interesting concept, and I think there could be potential in future volumes of this series. However, it should be noted that this manga series is geared more toward adults than to teenagers; this volume contains some nudity and subject matter that is a little more appropriate for older readers. I would personally recommend this manga series to readers who are seventeen or eighteen years of age and older.
