All my life, I never really understood THE LAST until hearing this one ("Gin"), quite recently in fact. Then . . . all of a sudden . . . I GOT IT. These boys play some of the catchiest, most honest and ROCKIN' pop tuneage this side of vintage KINKS. No kidding. Their lyrics are totally real/convincing, in a these-guys-might-be-your-neighbors kinda way. I know everyone digs "L.A. Explosion!" more, but man, give this a chance too - they don't sound any less inspired/restless than they did a decade and a half earlier. Plus, there's way more distortion going on here than back then, which is all to the good. Get this and swing!
