This book is fantastic. Each star (Loretta Young, Ginger
Rogers, Miriam Hopkins, Kay Francis, Ruth Etting and Irene Bentley) has a chapter devoted to them. The link between them is that they all had their names on film marquees in Times Square on New Year's Eve, 1933. The chapters are very detailed and I learned something about even Ginger Rogers that suprised me. Who is Irene Bentley? She is the book's big mystery. George Eells is a great film writer that really knows and researches his subject. Highly, highly recommended. |
