5.0 out of 5 stars Great book, great price
I stumbled onto Sweet Ginger Poison and I'm really glad I did! It was a very entertaining cozy mystery book that kept me quessing and gave me a few chuckles along the way too. The book is very, very well written and the plot very well done. The book flows well with a good pace and is easy to read. I loved Ginger and found her to be a very well-developed character. I...

3.0 out of 5 stars Light, quick read
I downloaded this on my Kindle and enjoyed the read. The characters could have been developed a bit more in my opinion. The ending came a bit too quickly I thought; almost like, hurry up and finish writing this book! But, the author did do a fine job in keeping me guessing in this "who-done-it". I would read another book by this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book, great price, May 8, 2011

I stumbled onto Sweet Ginger Poison and I'm really glad I did! It was a very entertaining cozy mystery book that kept me quessing and gave me a few chuckles along the way too. The book is very, very well written and the plot very well done. The book flows well with a good pace and is easy to read. I loved Ginger and found her to be a very well-developed character. I really can't believe this book is selling for only 99 cents! I've read much more expensive cozy mysteries that weren't anywhere as good.

I'm really hoping for a sequel to this book. If you're in the mood for a fun, quick cozy mystery, this is the book for you. Perfect for a rainy afternoon or anytime you just want to kick back and enjoy a good mystery. Highly recommend it. You sure can't beat the price!

This book was a very easy read. The best way I can describe this book would be to say....sweet with a nice homey feel. You quickly learn to love Ginger, how can you not? I was able to purchase this book for .99cents and to be honest I would have paid more. I recommend this book for a nice Sunday afternoon.

This review is from: Sweet Ginger Poison (Ginger Lightley Short Novel Mystery Series: Vol. 1) (Kindle Edition)
Stumbled upon the ebook after finding a half-finished version on the author's website. Sweet Ginger Poisons was entertaining, and is all I could ask for for one dollar. Check it out if you like quick, fun reads.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun Cozy Mystery, April 27, 2011
This review is from: Sweet Ginger Poison (Ginger Lightley Short Novel Mystery Series: Vol. 1) (Kindle Edition)
This is a great little book to sit down with and enjoy. I got it before a long plane ride and had a lot of fun with it. The title itself is nice, and the book is good too. If you read this, you're guaranteed to have a fun, relaxing time with some neat people. And, of course, you'll get a mystery too.

Could Lacey, one of sixty-one year old Ginger Lightley's employees at Coreyville Coffee Cakes, have prepared the lethal cupcake for her former boyfriend, Navy Newcomb? Ginger doesn't believe it. Since Lacey appears to be the only person the newly appointed police chief suspects, Ginger decides she must do her own investigating. But what could be the motive? Jealousy, greed, retribution, revenge? Ginger finds reasons for all of them before she discovers the real culprit. Add to the plot Ginger's budding romance with the Reverend Elijah Bideman and her bantering relationship with the "domino girls" and you have an enjoyable read for a rainy afternoon.

For 99 cents on kindle this is a gem of a story. The character Ginger is fascinating and well drawn in the novel. There are so many outs for the mystery as the plot develops and it kept me guessing throughout. There is a great mixture of humour, and suspense and the writing style is easy on the eye. great fun for 99 cents. Well recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm really looking forward to a sequel, May 8, 2011

This book SWEET GINGER POISON makes you think of the television series MURDER SHE WROTE. The author realizes this and mentions it jokingly in the book. I was a big fan of MURDER SHE WROTE and enjoyed this book for many of the same reasons I enjoyed the TV series. That being said, the author has created his own fictional world here with SWEET GINGER POISON and it's a world I want to go to again. Please write a sequel Robert, or better yet, make this the start of a series. Ginger Lightly is a pleasure to be around.

If you are looking for an easy breezy "lay by the pool and forget that you brought your children with you" summer read, this little gem is for you. Is it far fetched? Yes, of course it is. But it is also summer.
