4.0 out of 5 stars track listing, October 5, 1999

This review is from: Ginger (Audio CD)
Since they didn't post the track listing, I will. 1.Ginger 2.Fill 4 3.Beam me up! 4.R2D2 5.Fill 14 6.Jackpot 7.Basic Design 8.Perfect Pitch 9.Flashback 10.Fill 15 11.Pepper 12.De-Orbit. Total playing time is 64 minutes. This CD was from when he did his best work, and back when Warp records hadn't been bought by the Nothing label. This CD is different from the domestic release, with a few bonus tracks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Still in my top ten techno albums of the Nineties, March 25, 2001

Speedy J was at his best early on with classic simple techno. His mastery was using simple sounds that upon layering produced a sum greater than the whole. This album beats his other great album G-Spot (in my book at least) and I don't think I'll ever stop playing it.

Classic Intelligent Techno. Simple roots, breathtaking results. Enough said.

5.0 out of 5 stars Track listing confusion, August 11, 2010

First of all, I would like to echo all the positive things said about this album. It is a masterpiece of early Ambient Techno/IDM. There isn't a bad track on here to my ears. If you find yourself liking any of the other early Warp/AI stuff, you will undoubtedly enjoy this. It's very minimal, but done at the highest level.

Now to address some of the confusion in these reviews about the track listings. Understand that these reviews are getting shared over a number of releases on Amazon. The MP3 download is (apparently) from the Canadian Plus 8 release. Then there is a release from Radikal records without a track listing at all. I have NO idea what this release is. Finally, there is the Warp CD14 (green) release. On top of that, there are about 4 other releases to be found elsewhere! Many, if not all, of these releases have differences in track order and/or number of tracks.

If you're buying from a 3rd party on Amazon, e-mail them and find out EXACTLY what you're getting. Then go over to discogs and make sure.

No matter what you decide, get some version of this album. You won't regret it.
