This review is from: The Gingerbread Tree, the Gingerbread Man, and Me (Paperback)
I am a teacher and collector of children's books. I currently have about three thousand. This is undoubtly the worst children's book that I have ever read and because of the witch and the theme of the children trying not to be "made dead" it is unfit for the classroom and would be scary for small children. Even if that were not so, the story is boring and written in bad poetry. The illustrations (what small amount exsists) look like a child drew them. I would not waste my money on anymore of Jeanne Davison's books.
