useless: too low, too light, too narrow,

This review is from: Ginsey Step Stool (Baby Product)
This stool is a complete waste of money. It is too short to allow my toddler to reach the toilet OR the taps on the sink. It is too light to stay in place if he happens to tap it with his toe while he is trying to step up on it (even though it has a non-slip grip around the cheap plastic edges). It is not wide enough to make him feel reassured that he has plenty of room to stand on without watching his feet carefully carefully, which is hard for a young toddler.
SKIP this stool and all the other ones like it like Dora, Bjorn, etc. I got the KidKraft Step N Store, and it is everything the others are not. It is heavy so it doesn't move easily. It is much higher so toddler can actually comfortably reach the toilet AND the sink. There are two problems with it though, but we could work around those problems whereas we could not work around the problems with the cheap plastic stools. On the KidKraft the painted surfaces can be slippery especially if the child wears socks in the house. We put a non-slip film or rubber on ours, and on the feet too. Also the KidKraft manufacturing is quite poor and we had to improvise with one screw hole that was not drilled properly. But the KidKraft KidKraft Step 'N Store - White has been good ever since, although toddlers seem a bit unsteady on it when they have to turn around at the top to sit on the toilet. We also tried The Potty Stool. The Potty Stool It was totally worth it. It is much more expensive than all the other stools, but it is high enough for a toddler to reach the toilet, it has long rails so they are completely secure, and it is sturdy. Also, we didn't have to modify it like we did the KidKraft stool.

Sturdy, but too narrow,

While I think the stool is very sturdy, I find that it is a bit narrow. Any toddler will be facing the toilet as they approach, like my kid. My kid then steps on the stool (facing the toilet) before she pulls down her pants. She then has to turn around 180 degrees in order to sit down. The stool is quite narrow, and she sometimes loses her balances (or falls off) while trying to turn around. It's super cute, but I need to find another stool with more square footage.

My 2yr old just started potty training and he loves his new stool. It's perfect for your little ones. It's curved edge fits the toilet just right so it's easier for him to climb on to the potty. It's also light weight enough so it's easy for him to move it to the sink when he needs to wash his hands. I give this product 5 out of 5 stars. I don't have any "cons" for this item.

I bought this for price, and because it matched the potty seat we had previously bought on clearance at Target. My son thinks he needs to stand to pee now, so I thought this would be perfect!
I was wrong. It's non-slip. Well.... the rubber grips on the bottom aren't enough. My son tilted forward ever so slightly and it flew out from behind him, which caused him to get a serious bruise on his hip, and his arm slid down the toilet. I'm just glad he didn't knock his head on anything or bite his tongue! I still use it for sink use, but I put one of my feet on the edge to keep it in place. He's just going to have to wait till he's taller, because mommy can't stand another scare like that! Style is nice, but again, not very safe for boy's potty use.

Great, cute step-stool,

This stool is the perfect height for my three year old to use at the sink when brushing his teeth or washing his hands. He bounces around a lot and hasn't slipped or fallen off.

I was looking for a cute step stool now that my son is potty training. I bought this one in the red/white because it matches his toilet seat. It isn't very high or large in area, but it's enough to help him climb onto the toilet in our small bathroom. It does tend to move if he's pushing at it with his feet, but it's sturdy enough and cute.

I ordered the Sesame Street stepstool pictured above, but that's not what I received. Instead of the green stepstool with all of the Sesame Street characters that is pictured, I receieved a white stepstool with Elmo only. Just before writing this review, I searched the Amazon site for "Elmo stepstool" and still couldn't find anything like what I actually received, so I have no idea where Amazon even got this thing.Beyond the design mistake, the photo is also misleading in its representation of the stool's dimensions. I read the dimensions in the product description and, then studying the photo, believed that it was tall and wide from left to right, but narrow from front to back. This is not the case. The height is the shortest of the dimensions at just over 5", so it does absolutely nothing to aid my daughter in reaching the toilet or any faucets in the house. This is the worst purchase I've ever made from Amazon, and I would not have made it if the product information was more accurate. Thanks for nothing, Amazon.

I really loved the look of the stool when I picked it out online. When it arrived yesterday, I opened the box to find not a green and yellow stool with all of the Sesame Street characters on it, but a white and red stool with just Elmo on it. It's fine- my daughter loves Elmo and it'll look good in the bathroom, but I'm still disappointed that it's not what I expected. I've never had that happen on Amazon before :(

Helpful for child to use;and doesn't tip easily.
Lightweight, and washable with rubber bottom so it doesn't slip easily and a cute picture that doesn't wear off.

I got this so that my 2 yr. old could reach the bathroom sink, which isn't very high. It serves it's purpose, She can wash her hands, but that's it. She can't efficiently brush her teeth (spit in the sink), without assistance. She's like 33" tall.
