We've had this knife set for a little over a month now & I am just as pleased as when I bought it. The edges are sharp & easily cut through everything (watermelon rind used to be hard to cut through with our old knife set, but not anymore!) Our kitchen appliances are black & stainless steel & this knife set matches everything perfectly. The handles are comfortable & have a nice weight to them. We have not had a single problem with rust (and these are used daily), but we do hand wash them so this probably helps. Very happy with my purchase!

Update after 1+ year: We still have only hand washed this set & all the knives still look new & are just as sharp as the first day we got them. There are absolutely no rust spots & all the handles are still secure. My personal favorite is the Santoku knife; I love how the top of the knife is curved so you can press down comfortably & rock it back & forth while dicing. With any high-quality knife set I think hand washing is the only way to go if you want to keep your knives in the best possible shape. I'm thrilled that this set has held up so well!

I've owned these for 6 months and they look pretty, however, they've developed RUST spots and the handles feel rough in your hand as they have rust on them too. I called the factory to explain and spoke w/ the quality control person and they did say they would replace ea one for $3.00 ea. and if i wanted a premium set of knives i would need to pay a lot more for them. They are sharp but not like they were when new only 6 mos ago. If you want to spend time hand washing and drying them everytime you use them, you'll be happy w/ them, however, i wouldn't purchase these again. I DID appreciate the employees honesty in quality control!

I got this as a gift for my dad for father's day. My family loves the knife set, they are sleek sharp and get the job done but there one big issue....they are rusting with <1 month use. The packaging information says the knives are dishwasher safe but I believe this is where the problem stems from. Nice knives just wish they weren't rusting, Id suggest not putting in the dishwasher.

I've had this set since August, 2009, and in the ten months since this writing, one blade has loosened from its handle and minor spotting/discoloration are on all the knives. Overall, they're pretty good and I don't regret buying them. Yet, I still expected less problems for the money. One friend suggested to wash them by hand because certain dishwashers can be abusive. That may be what I do from now on.

Cheap and useful. Stay sharp for so long. Would of been nice if it had a santoku somewhere in the block though. having serrated blades on almost every knife is slightly frustrating.

We bought this a few months ago as a replacement for a cutlery set that was showing its age. I was hesitant at first because it seemed like an awful lot for the price. However, I read some of the other reviews and decided to try them out. I'm glad I did. These knives are very good and very stylish. Honestly I'm not entirely sure what each one is for and I haven't used each one yet. There's one non-serrated knife that comes to a point which makes quick work of splitting an avocado. The set of steak knives is excellent.

This is a awesome knife set. These knives are as sharp, i would not expect anything less of ginsus. The knives are pretty average when it comes to the handle comfort, lighter then most knives and pretty durable. All in all these are ginsu knives so they are sharp and have stayed sharp. I would recommend these knives for everyday use.

Every knife does the job very well. They are well-balanced. Bread knife does a perfect job of slicing soft bread thinly. Glad I picked this product.

These knives are very sharp and work well. Only problem is the handles are developing tiny rust spots. Very disappointing.

Very sharp, attractive and a great value. No compliants yet, however we will see how long they stay sharp.
