I like this set as it is compact and the knives cut well, already cut my finger. I was looking for a set that didn't have steak knives because I already have them. I like the stainless steel and the block color. Scissors seem a litte bit "cheap" but they work.

Very good knives. Excellent value. After two months of use, I don't see any rust. We are aware that they require proper drying after use.

However, there's an image problem. Frankly, in the minds of my friends, the name Ginsu connotes loud TV commercials with unbelievable feats of cutting. I have trouble getting through to them that Ginsu makes very good quality knives at a great price. Well worth the purchase.

As an avid user of Global Brand Knives, I was really hesitant to buy these knives. I was shocked at how good the quality was - I would say these are excellent quality for the price. The range of knives included are excellent for home cooks or training chefs. The scissors work (and look) fine.

I like them. I actually cannot fault them with use. They feel good in the hand - nice and heavy, and they cut exceptionally well.

A note on Cleaning - I put these knives (as I would with most knives - including my Globals) in the Dishwasher. If your dishwasher has a drying feature, there is no need to worry about rusting or blunting the knives. I've had these for more than 2 months, and they have been cleaned in the dishwasher since I got them. They have no signs of rust or blunting - and any quality knife shouldn't.

Love this set, very nice look with the brushed metal handles. Haven't noticed any spotting/rusting issues so far but have had them only for a month. We only hand wash these, that is recommended for all knives to retain their sharpness. The block is average looking but functional, doesn't take up too much space. Good mix of lengths and blade widths, meets most of our kitchen needs.

Ok, I am one of the "I can cut everything with my existing knives" people. Well, I finally got tired of cutting up salads with steak knives and hand me downs :) I decided it was time to be a big girl and buy a set. I know Ginsu are famous for their annoying infomercials so I was a little hesitant to purchase the brand. However, I received them quickly and in good shape. The knives are sharp and look nice. They have full length support so they are sturdy. I have had them for about 2 months now and they are still cutting like new. I do not use them in the dishwasher but opt to hand wash and dry them. Seeing as How I only use 1 or 2 at a time I don't find this a major nuisance. I suppose if you were using 5 at a time it would be slightly more tedious but still for best results I recommend hand washing and drying them to avoid rust. the carious shapes and sizes accomodate all my chopping needs. I make a lot of fresh food in my little food processor and have to do rough chops several times a week. It easily goes through all fruits and vggies with ease. I also chop up a lot of chicken and beef for my dogs food and again, there is no problems. I highly recommend this product even if it has a cheesy infomercial background! Quality for a great price!

Okay so i recieve my knives...very quick actually and im all excited with them and when i open the last one i cut myself!..So be careful, eventhough they are pretty well wrapped, they are very sharp!. They look beautiful, scissors are a little cheap but they do the job.
The bad thing: eventhough they say they are DISHWASHER SAFE...one of them already has rust marks so i will not recommend you to leave em there for a wash, just hand wash them.
Overall not a bad product for the money.

I just got my knives and have been using them for a few days. They are fabulous! I just need them for everyday basic use, so this serves its purpose. They are very sharp and have thick handles, which makes it easier to hold them. The scissors that come with it are nothing special, but I didn't need them so much. It looks nice and compact on my counter. I don't have counter space, which is why I ordered this smaller set. The steak knives can go in a drawer. I hope this helps!

This is a great set of knives! I have plenty of steak knives so I didn't want a new set that included steak knives. The Ginsu name has always been a safe, inexpensive buy that gives great service. That they don't ever need sharpening is another good feature, except for the 7 inch santuku bladed knife. It's blade is smooth and requires sharpening, but it's a great knife for chopping and boning. I am happy I bought this set of knives and recommend them highly.
