Great starter bike WELL WORTH the money.

After my triathlon I will either be upgrading parts or considering a new bike as this one is better off for people who don't cycle very often.

I love this bike. I was looking for a road bike for a long time that was a descent price and fit me well. I am 5 foot 2 and bought the 17 inch frame bike. I was a little worried about putting it together since it was not assembled. I waited for my husband to get home to help me and it ends up that it wasn't necessary. It only took us about 10 minutes to get it put together. I just had to try it out a couple times to get everything adjusted properly. I use it all the time and hook it up to a trainer in the winter for exercise. Its a good weight for the price to.

Bought this for my wife after using the men's model for myself. It is a solid and well-priced entry level road bike for those looking to get into road biking. The front wheel arrived out of true, and the brakes needed alignment. But the shifters work well and there are no major mechanical issues, just take it to your local bike shop for a tune up.

We took it out for a spin after I set it up for her and THE SEAT IS ABSOLUTE TORTURE. Since I have the men's bike it's obvious that they use the same seat for both models. The seat was so painful for her that we had to stop after a few miles, tie a shirt to the seat for extra padding, and go home (she's 5'4", 125lbs). I've since ordered a new seat for her, but ladies, be warned if you don't use padded cycling shorts.

Other complaints are that the bike has a flower design on the handlebar tape - which is easy to change. But also that the bike is very pink because of the fork, which makes it look somewhat childish -and bothers my feminist wife. But, in the end,you aren't looking at the bike while you're riding it so who cares as long as you get to learn to enjoy cycling without breaking the bank?

Aside from that, one other big thing to note is that my wife has small hands so she had trouble reaching the brakes/shifters comfortably. Luckily, two sizes of of rubber shims were included in the box -DO NOT THROW THESE AWAY- that you can insert underneath the brake covers to lessen the distance between the brake lever and handlebar grip. Since the shifters are the same as the men's model, I assume every single woman that uses this bike would benefit from spending the 5 minutes installing these shims.

If you can live with the color, I'd recommend this bike to anyone looking for a solid, yet affordable, starter road bike.

I am 5'2 inches tall with short legs/longer torso. I purchased the 15 inch frame and it fits perfectly. The bike is very smooth riding - the gear shift works great. Very quiet, good looking, and enjoyable to ride. So glad I decided to get the smaller frame. I'm sure the larger one would have been too big for me. This is perfect for someone with the same body type as me. I went to a local bike shop and was told that the smallest size Raleigh Capri II would be the right fit/size for me. I compared the specifications and the 15 inch frame bike matched the closest - and is the reason I chose it over the larger frame.

bike is very lite and well constructed. My wife is five two and she is very happy with the 15 inch frame. Shifters work very well and were easy to adjust.

I have been in the world of cycling for over 40 years in all sides from painting, fixing to riding. This bike is really a bad investment. A realistic price would be around $250.00. For around $100 dollars over the price more you can get a Fuji with better equipment. Here is the gist:

First packaging seemed to have gone through the triathlon. Bike came with scrapes. Front brake has a flaw. Once you hit the brake one of the sides of sticks to the rim. I even took it to the shop and they couldn't get it either. Old valve design. The 15 inch frame does not come with two places for water. Brakes are a bit on the hard side for a petite female. Overall, if you know about bikes, once you get it you'll know what I am talking about.

I would recommend for the money, and time investment to put together to invest a little more and get one from the shop. A new twist on the old wise adage, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR, in this case, YOU GET LESS THAN WHAT YOU PAY FOR!

Lesson Learned!

This bike is fabulous..my little girl is 9 and she really needs another 6 months to get into this bike but she can ride short distances for now..it will last her a long time. Giordano has a good line of bicycles and youth bikes are hard to find.

Ok, so let me start by telling you guys that i love, love, love my bike. It was worth every penny. Such an amazing value. with that said, here are the pluses. It's pretty, love the pink and the handle bars have a very tasteful flowered tape. It's so feminine. It's super light and that means an easier ride, the gears are easy to shift. I think I used all of them. Lol. It arrive really fast within the specified time and in almost excellent condition. It has a small scrape by one of the tires but nothing major. It was easy to put together. Had it up and running in about 15 min. It looks nice, it rides nice and it's super light which has made a lot of difference. The negatives...Not many, the kick stand broke for no reason within a week of getting it. I was going to lean it on the kick stand and it snapped in half. No biggie cheap repair, got a new one for like 6.00. The breaks... one needed adjustment but it was easy to do and the next thing is just personal preference, I wish I had breaks up higher on the handlebars. Would be easier to break since I rarely ride gripping the curved part. I was thinking of having new breaks put in higher in the handle bars but don't want to remove the pretty tape covering the handle bars. Also personal preference I think I need new pedals. My feet slip a bit. So that's it. I love love my new bike. I've ridden it everyday since I bought it a month ago and i ride about 10 to 15 miles a day. I know its not much but its been 20 yrs since I've been on a bike and couldn't be happier with it. Great starter bike WELL WORTH the money. Happy riding
