This bike is decent for the price of $179. If you are deciding between this and Takara Kabuto they are both made by Kent the only differences between the two are frame color, wheel color and the frame material Steel vs Aluminum. I purchased this road bike to ride about 1-2 miles to school everyday. I have owned it for 2 weeks now and i have been very pleased. It came in excellent condition! It rides smooth and handles well. The things i do not like about the bike is the seat and seat post are very cheap. The pedals are also very cheap and low quality. But for the price i cannot complain. It also has a flip flop hub so anyone looking for a fixie for a decent price look no further. The frame is also very lightweight, and if you does not like the "Giordano" logos around the bike they are all stickers so you can easily remove them. Over all, I would recommend this bike to anyone who needs a basic and simple road bike.

This bike is decent for the price of $179. If you are deciding between this and Takara Kabuto they are both made by Kent the only differences between the two are frame color, wheel color and the frame material Steel vs Aluminum. If your buying just for looks then it doesn't matter. If you plan on upgrading components then you should just get the Giordano and save a couple of dollars which can be used for quality parts. The best bang for your buck is actually the Schwinn Men's Courier Bicycle (green). Too bad its green but overall the components are better.

I Switched out a couple of things I had from previous bikes. Flat handle bars, Brake Levers, Seatpost, Pedals. Removed all the stickers on frame and wheels, removed reflectors, chainring guard, kickstand (how many adults still use a kickstand) I'm 6' and the 56cm frame is fine.

Pros

Lighweight Aluminum Frame

Wheelset is also fairly light

Flip Flop Hub

All stickers can be removed easily including the one's on the wheels

Cons

Chainring on the crank is not removeable (cranks are steel)

Cheap Seatpost (replaced)seatpost is actually 27.2 (seatpost is steel)

Cheap Pedals (replaced)

Brakes not very good (will be replaced)Brakes are steel)

Handle Bar is fairly heavy (replaced)Steel as well

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Bike, July 27, 2011

This bike is really amazing, I bought it for $200 shipped and now it's only $179 (7/27/11)! It doesn't feel or look cheap in any regard and rides nicely. I tore all the stickers off, removed the brakes and flopped it to fixed gear. It comes as single speed and you have to reverse the tire tube. I plan on upgrading the handlebars to some racing drops and getting a different seat.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent bike, July 15, 2011
This review is from: Giordano Rapido Single Speed Road Bike (Sports)
I've owned this bike for about two weeks and overall I am happy with the purchase. I bought it through Sears online service, since I figured if something is wrong with the bike it would be easier to just take it to my local Sears and return it, rather than ship it to Amazon. The bike came perfectly packaged and 90% assembled. It took me about 20 minutes to finish assembly and adjust the breaks. I had no problem with tubes or tires. This bike is not a feather weight bike - close to 26lbs, however I like the fact that the tires are 700x32 (rather than 700x25) since it makes it easier to ride on less than perfect roads. The bike looks sharp (I've already received compliments on the look) and feels quite solid. As for the cons - the pedals could be a little wider and they do feel somewhat flimsy. The seat is quite hard, so I'll probably replace it. However, overall, a very decent bike.

For a cheap bike it was well packaged and appears to generally be of reasonable quality for the cost. One area of concern is that the rims are deep profile so normal tubes don't work (you need long stem versions) and the correct tubes may or may not be available at your LBS. The tubes that come with it are also very low quality and one failed when I pumped up the tires for the first time.

The frame size is probably closer to what one would expect from a 56cm than a 54cm. I usually ride a 56cm and it fits just fine with a reasonable amount of seat post showing.

All in all it is a cheap and simple bike to ride around town.

There are a number of errors in the description, the more major ones are:

The frame is welded aluminum (not steel) it is also has a slightly sloping top tube.

Brakes are single pivot caliper (not side pull) and aren't amazing by any means but once adjusted do generally work.

5.0 out of 5 stars It is Aluminum, not steel, February 16, 2012

For only paying $158 with free shipping this is the best deal on the web, The bike looks better in person then in the pictures.

Frame: Aluminum

Forks: Steel

Seat Post: Steel

Rims: Aluminum

Spokes: Steel

Stem: Aluminum

Handlebar: Steel

Brake Levers: Aluminum

Brakes: Aluminum

Sprockets: Steel

Pedals: Steel

Cranks: Steel

Everything about the bike is perfect for the price range, the only thing you should do is adjust the brakes and align the brake pads and your good to go. Oh, and I would also probably want to upgrade the tires as they are cheap and too fat for my liking.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for project build, February 8, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
At the price of this bike I knew what I would be getting. I paid for the frame and wheel set. All other components have been swapped. The brakes and levers gone, the drop bars (super heavy) gone, seat post is actually 27.2 mm not 25.4 mm like the description says. The stem does not have grooves to grip the bars so it needed to be replaced. Stickers had to go just way too many. Crank and pedals are not the best but they don't HAVE to be swapped, I just did because I know what I wanted already. I also swapped out the rear wheel hub. The bottom bracket stay put but will most likely be replaced in a month or 2.

After all the swapping and re-tuning you can have a nice looking bike. If you're not looking for a project you can definitely buy and ride, especially if you don't really care about the components. Good price and good looking after a few upgrades, gets 4 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars My First Road Bike (FIXIE), February 1, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Giordano Rapido Single Speed Road Bike (Sports)
Hello Amazon Viewers, I just Recieved my single speed road bike, which i call my fixie. The bike is perfect size for me and I ordered the 54cm frame and im only 5`6'. The bike came in very fast. The only bad thing about this bike is that the seat is junk, because for some reason it makes noise while i ride it. the shipping was fast but the box was teared up. I thought that the bike was going to b broken or something but it only turned out to have coulpe of surface scrathes and sticker scrathes, which i am removing pretty soon. well like i said, this is my first fixie and im going to have fun with it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Bike for a Great Price, November 13, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this bike speculating on its durability and style. I liked what I saw and for the price, it was by far the best deal, even after searching the local shops and finding nothing cheaper than $200. In the end, it arrived and I loved the look. I'm inept at setting it up and didn't have the right tools, but for 10 bucks, I got it fixed and checked for saftey at a local shop and it was good to go. I love using it in the city and have been receiving compliments left and right about it. Overall, the bike has little flaws and I've gotten used to the feel. It moves well too - I can go slow with ease or speed up to catch a light. Perfect city bike.
