Snake skin ankle boots combine the classiness of ankle shoes with the serpentine charm of snake skin. They make fabulous sound when your bell bottomed pants swish against them while you're walking. The gait is strong with these shoes, and comfortable too. Best if you buy a half-size larger for them than your regular shoe size. I have bought seven of these shoes up till now (the snake skin demi-boots). Have loved them all.

I've ordered at least 10 pairs of shoes from Giorgio Brutini. Although they are certainly not the finest quality shoes one can buy, they are absolutely an excellent value for the money. I constantly get compliments from colleagues and clients.

These boots are great. If you know how to take care of snakeskin they'll last maybe not forever but I've worn the hell out of one pair for over a year and they still look great. I did just have the heel replaced because like most men, I don't walk in heels correctly. I've just purchased another pair for back-up because they are no longer in production and these are GENUINE SNAKE, not print or replica. You will not find snakeskin boots for under $200 anywhere so these are certainly worth the purchase. The bad reviews are from people who think snakeskin is like leather. It's totally different, peeling is part of the look. Just like wrinkles are part of linen suits... love it. (These are a must for Keith Richards fans.)

These boots seem to be true to size to me, they look great and are quite comfortable. The heel is a little higher than it seems in the picture so wearing them i am 6'6, but haters gunna hate. They are easily worth the price and look amazing with jeans.

I wear a size 9 - 9.5, depending on the shoe. I considered getting a size 10 based on reviews these boots ran on the small side. But I went conservative and got the 9.5 and to me, it felt like a 10. My heel would slip out with every step. So for me the sizing was opposite, bigger than expected.

I returned it for a size 9, but in the undyed skin, as it seemed more practical compared the the VERY shiny black.

Now I've never been the biggest demi boot fan, mainly for the fact tops were alway too loose for my liking. But these boots are SNAKE, I had to make it work. So I added a thick insole, to lift my heel just enough to make the top of my foot feel snug & supported. Totally fixed my demi boot dilemma.

Which in turn, created a new dilemma. While I love my replacment undyed snakeskin boot. It made me miss the black ones I originally purchased. So I came up with the perfect solution. Get both.

Keep the natural snake boot for more regular out & about wear. Let em get beat up, dirty AND look better in the process, and get the shiny black snake skin boots... again, but in size 9 for more formal occasions. Problem solved.

I was expecting big things from these shoes, but I was extremely disappointed.

Although these shoes fit well, the snakeskin on them looks awful. NOTHING like the pictures. When I got them it looked like the shoes had shed their snakeskin.

I know you can't expect high quality snakeskin for $80, but the seller could at least be more honest about what they're selling. These shoes probably sat in a hot warehouse and dried up.

Now I got some shoe oil specifically for snake skin and wiped them down a couple of times and was able to salvage them somewhat, but if someone takes a closer look they'll probably laugh at the quality.

Since I was able to save them, I didn't give them 1 star, but seriously if you want a good looking pair of shoes, these are NOT it.

Update 02/01/2015

So I've owned these shoes for two months and even with the high quality oiling it's still hard to save the dried up snake-skin. I didn't oil them for 3 weeks and they ended up looking just as bad as when I got them. Once again, if you don't plan on oiling them every week, then avoid them. Do NOT buy!

They run small, but mine fit when I accounted for this.

I've had 4 pairs of these snake bootlets.
People love the fashion, and I love being an extra inch taller.

Snake skin dries out and is thin. These last about a year
before the heels fall apart. If you use shoe trees and oil
the skin they will look brand new when the heel finally
fails. If you don't oil/polish and dry them they will start
peeling and look terrible at the end of that year.

I learned a lot about maintaining shoes from having these.
I bet I can get 2 years out of a few pairs now that I'm
maintaining them.

These were purchased as a gift. The man likes them a lot and hasn't complained. There is a metal tag on the bottom that says "Genuine snakeskin" He was impressed. The color is a very dark brown and they do feel like snakeskin. I purchased them a 1/2 size larger than he wears and they fit nicely

I've come to like these tight-fitting boots after conditioning them, stretching them, and breaking them in.

I've made comments before in other reviews, but GB seems to have a quality control issue with their supplier with standardized sizing, fit, etc. With their older models, shoes were generally sized similarly along their line of products. For example, a 9.5 would translate to a 9.5 shoe size between similar category models (boots to boots, loafers to loafers, etc.).

With this boot, however, I had issues. I already own another pair of GB boots in a size 9 (they seemed oversized, since I normally wear a 9.5-10 for GB loafers and monk straps). When I ordered a size 9 for these GB boots, though, I could barely get my foot to fit. After ordering a size 9.5, I got these to fit with really thin socks. (For comparison's sake, that pair of size 9 GB boots is significantly larger than this size 9.5 when the soles compared). Amazon won't let you do more than 1 exchange, so I kept them. After breaking them in, they fit more comfortably now, but are still an extremely snug fit. I'd recommend going up at least a full size from your regular GB
