Unfortunately this quick release adapter is not compatible with the manfrotto quick release plates. This is much wider than the manfrotto plates. In hind sight i should have ran a search through the reviews because I think there was one saying that very thing, so that is my fault.

I had considered keeping it but I would have to put this one on all of my other manfrotto heads and that did not add up.

Otherwise the product was good and solid.

I bought this QRP mainly for my glidecam hd4000 but my concern was that it was not going to match my tripod, lucky me the Plate is almost identical and I can move my camera from the glidecam HD4000 to the Provista fm 18 Fluid head tripod with no problems at all, if you are going to by this QRP for your glidecam keep in mind that you may have to buy at your local homedepot some type of ruber, or a piece of cork to install between the QRP and the glidecam's base because when the QRP is attached to the base, you won't be able to use the locking lever since it is to close to the glidecam's base, this is not a pain 'cause after all is good if you install a rubber between the glidecam's base end the QRP, the rubber will prevent movement of the QRP and at the same time will give you enough space to adjust the locking leveler, other good thing about it is that with the rubber that I installed, the QRP,the battery grip, the lens and the canon t2i , I Only have to use 1 counter balance on each side of the button of the glidecam. so far very pleased with my purchase the fact that I don't have to detach the camera from the giottos QRP and install the provista QRP to attached to my tripod is gold for me, basically a killed two birds with one stone, efficiency and price!!

I sent this back for a few reasons, i use a t4i and a Glidecam 2000, the first problem is the battery, you have to remove the plate from the camera to switch it out, this is not the case with the Manfrotto. the second problem is the tightening nut on the side, it was nearly impossible to tighten on the Glidecam, this may be different on a tripod but i do not use one. if you only use a tripod and have a camera with a battery on the back this is a good product but it just wasn't for me. The Manfrotto fixes both of these problems and works with their tripods by default, spend the extra money and save yourself a headache.

This is a great quick release adapter, especially considering the price.

One flaw is the locking lever is too big. If you have a camera with a wide base such as a dslr, the lever will hit the bottom of the camera and not lock. The lever can be pulled out and rotated on the tightening nut in this situation, but it makes for a cumbersome design and there is extra fiddling with it to get it to tighten right. If your camera is mounted to a wide base - such as a slider, it is even more difficult to tighten.

I use a Nikon D300s w/ OEM battery pack and D800 with OEM battery pack, often with an 80-200 f/2.8. The MH621 is my QR (Quick Release) plate of choice, despite having used many others (not that the others are bad products).

The build quality and finish of the product is simply incredible. So much so, I equip all my ballheads (I have three) with the MH621. Very solid construction all around including all subcomponents such the levels, screws, and lever; nearly indestructible. I found the design perfect. Though another reviewer indicated the locking lever touches the bottom of his camera when turned, I did not (using Nikon D800 w/pack or D800 w/Pack). It is possible the locking lever may touch camera bodies of other brands, most notably (confirmed) the Canon 5D Mark ii with a Glidecam XR-2000.

A key aspect I really loved about this plate is how solid the connection is between the camera, plate, receiver, and then tripod, almost as if it was a one piece solid construction.

As the title mentions, I found this item to work well with the Canon t3i and the Glidecam HD-2000. The only issues I ran into were that the base does block the battery hatch, and the slide-on/off nature of the quick release means that some re-balancing is needed each time the camera is removed from the Glidecam. I did not find those to be major issues myself. I would have given one more star if there was a way to fix the sliding position.

The levels are very helpful for a rapid Glidecam balance.

I used this device with Canons 10mm-22mm zoom which is fairly heavy and had no issues. The base does add a lot of weight to the camera though, so for extended periods where the QR is not needed, I suggest removing the base.

I am a huge fan of this product, I already have five of it. Where I use a single Quick release plate, with two or more base plates fitted to my tripods, crane, Camera Stabilizer etc. It saves a lot of time when you work with a single camera with multiple Support Systems. The make is really fine, The finishing of the base plate is great, Finishing of the QR plate is just about OK. The Lock serves it purpose. The two spirit levels are added advantage because you can use it while shooting landscape and portrait.

very good plate. I bought it for a video stabilizer (opteka) and it is great to be able to set the plate a little bit at the right or the left to change the balance of the stabilizer without having to touch the screws on the video stabilizer itself. All in all, a great plate very easy to set and feels solid. It has a very nice grainy touch which makes it sexy. It led to look more into giottos stuff.
