This is a solid tripod that will serve most photo nuts quite well. I cannot compare it to carbon fiber or the monster tripods used by some pros, but for the intermediate and some professional situations, this will be just fine. It has the basic features most will need for a great price. Just pick a good head and you're ready to rock.

I looked at several others in the local camera stores, but the independent ratings I'd read put this one way up there. I wanted simple, solid and durable and believe this is all three!

Edit: More than a year after my purchase, it's done a really good job on everything I've tried (time-lapse, hyperlapse, astro-photography, etc. )

This is a quality tripod with a solid feel and setup. Flip legs work well and ball feet have been good for my shooting to date. Only minor beef is the final telescopic section on top gets caught on legs when reclining but once I realised this I can accommodate it. May go carbon next time for less weight.

Haven't used the tripod very much yet but certainly seems to have a quality feel, well made and surprisingly light in weight. Also seems to be steady and supports a D90 with 18-200 mm zoom well.
