wonderful singing, but..., September 12, 2005

A valuable CD, with great Verdian voices and passionate, committed singing, but the digital transfer is of rather poor quality, with sometimes obtrusive hissing. A strong point for me was the inclusion of excerpts from "Guglielmo Tell" that I had not heard before; however, most of the "Forza del Destino" tracks can be heard to much better effect on the Nimbus Prima Voce series.
