5.0 out of 5 stars Not for everyone
Taylor is in a world all his own. If you like scenes of graphic sex with impossible penetrations (and impossible physical proportions), then his work is for you. But if you have issues with women having all kinds of sex with multiple partners with reckless abandon, then this isn't for you. I found it to be some of the hottest stuff I've ever seen, which is odd since the...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not what I was expecting
I've been familiar with the artist ever since I saw a short comic in "Crypt of Dawn", so the art style wasn't a dissapointment. The fact that the male body proportions were so ridiculous completely came as a surprise to me. Honestly, it made me want to send the book back because it just seemed pointless and tacky.

This review is from: Girl: Body Heat 2 (v. 2) (Paperback)
Taylor is in a world all his own. If you like scenes of graphic sex with impossible penetrations (and impossible physical proportions), then his work is for you. But if you have issues with women having all kinds of sex with multiple partners with reckless abandon, then this isn't for you. I found it to be some of the hottest stuff I've ever seen, which is odd since the drawings are very cartoonish. It's Taylor's unique gift to make his art style come off as so erotic. This one is in color, which is a bonus.

4.0 out of 5 stars Erotic and enjoyable, October 22, 2007
This review is from: Girl: Body Heat 2 (v. 2) (Paperback)
Body Heat 2 is a collection of the best color stories drawn by Kevin J. Taylor. Best known for his Girl series, he proves here that he created a complete universe, with its heroes, its adventures, and a perversion page after page... All the stories aren't excellent, but it's a pleasure to see some new works by this rare creator.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sequel is better than the original, November 7, 2007

This review is from: Girl: Body Heat 2 (v. 2) (Paperback)
Body Heat 2 is the sequel to Kevin Taylor's first collection of the same title. While the stories themselves don't go beyond the sex storytelling of the first book what this book has going for it is all the stories are in color. Body Heat 2 also includes stories not just about Jaleira "The Girl" Dane, Boy Blue and Marty but it also brings in other "Girl" regulars like Jesse and Jill. In fact, I would say that the stories dealing with Jesse and Jill were the best ones in the book.

Body Heat 2 also shows that as great as Kevin Taylor's artwork was when it was just plain black and white they look infinitely better in full-color. Hopefully, the days of Taylor's books coming out in black and white are a thing of the past. Color is the best medium to enjoy Taylor work. And from someone who has been following this particular artist's work since his Girl miniseries came out in 1991 I will say that he's always just improved his craft as the years passed. Will be looking forward to his next books.

When it comes to erotica, I can enjoy serious storylines, such as Serpieri's Drunna series, or `for fun's sake' works such as this book. The characters, at least, are in control of their own sexuality and aren't repugnant in personality. The impossible anatomy, however, just ruins the book over all. It was extremely dissapointing.

I also agree that for those who are not familiar with the artist, the cover art is far more realistic than the interior quality.
