By A Customer
This review is from: The Girl Death Left Behind (Mass Market Paperback)
This book made me cry. Lurlene Mcdaniel is my favorite writer. She makes me think about the future. That everyone has a chance to get seriouse illnesses. This book is one of my favorite because i had a sister that died when i was 4. I didn't cry the day of her accident, but reading this book made me realize how my parents felt.My sister now is still thinking about her , but i felt so bad bacause i never got to take care of her.what if my whole family dies and i would have to move away.Lurlene Mcdaniel's books tell me that life isn't always fair. When i read 1 of her books it made me want to read more. Her book was the first book that made me cry, and i don't cry!

I read this book in about two days. This was a really good book! I loved it. It's about Beth, her family goes on an annual picnic and Beth stays behind because she is sick. But her father gets into a horrible accident on the way to the picnic..and every member of her household gets killed. Now she has no one. She is forced to go live with her aunt in a totally different state, and leave her friends and home behind. To top it all off, she has to stay in the same house with her bratty cousin, whom she never really liked. Her struggle to gain her life back, move on, and meet new friends, while trying to forget about her past, is hard. Do you think she can make it? Read this icredible book to find out. Believe me when I say..you wont regret it!

Beautifully woven tale,
This review is from: The Girl Death Left Behind (Mass Market Paperback)
This book about a young girl named Beth and how she deals with tragedy is so beautifully woven and intricate in plot. The splendor of emotive beauty is engraved in this book and now because I have read this book, also in my heart. Her books teach you that you should "Live life to the Fullest" against all odds. To feel as if you world has caved in on you, and then emerge emotionly victorious, is a way of writing I wish to capture. I doubt if Lurlene ever reads amazon reviews on her books but if she does... I love you Lurlene, your books are awesome, keep going as long as you can, there are many readers that enjoy supporting your habits. When I am older, I will have my kids read your books...

It was wonderful and I think anyone out there who enjoys books about death, friendship, family, tragedy and even suspense should read this. It's quite sad sometimes, and you're just about ready to bring out all the tears and release the floodgates then the mood changes and gets you smiling in relief and in happiness again. I read this two years ago and I always mark it down as MY FAV. BOOK of all times. You should definitely read it. You seem to be watching a movie and then suddenly you feel as if you're really there, standing right with Beth and behind Terri and you are so engrossed in the book all the characters seem to be like your friends, your family. It is a truly wonderful book and in my opinion, you should definitely read it.

Great for any age!,

This review is from: The Girl Death Left Behind (Mass Market Paperback)
This book really makes you think that your family could disappear at any moment. Beth Haxton's family was only supposed to be away for a couple of hours but instead they are gone for a life time. It makes you want to get closer to your family because you never know when they're not going to be there. When Beth's cousin gets jealous of her because she's getting all the attention because her family died, she needs to stop a moment and think, "Would I like it if my family had died and I had to go live in another state with my uncle and aunt and cousins and never see my mom and dad agian?" I reccommend this book to everyone of all ages. It's great. It doesn't make you cry as much as some of her books do, but it is a truly good book.

When Beth gets sick and decides to stay home, her family(including her mom , dad , brother , and sister) go to her dads company picnic without her. When she gets a phone call saying they never showed up,and she gets an unexpected visit from her aunt all the way from Florida, she suspects something has went wrong. What will she do? Where could they be? How and where will she live? This book was very interesting and touching, because it made me think about I would feel if that happpened to me. If you like dramatic stories this is a book for you. I give this book and everyone of her other books I've read two thumbs up and FIVE STARS! I highly recommend everyone of her books that i have read to you and all your friends.
