This was a santa gift for my 8 y/o daughter. She used it for 5 minutes and said "They didn't show how dumb it was on TV." We were unable to produce one cupcake that was decorated anything like advertised. The tiny plunger used to hold the frosting had to be loaded for each cupcake and did not cover 1/2 the cupcake-loading the plunger took longer than anything else (except washing up all the pieces). The product was so disappointing - I hesitate sending it to the thrift store!

Before you buy it, try microwaving some cake batter first, and then try the results. There is no special equipment that makes these taste better. So we rationalized, hey, at least the little frosting contraption would be fun... but does it make a pretty little spiral, or a turd-like dollop? The answer is--you guessed it--the latter.

It looks adorable but the cupcakes are terrible - my kids (age 7 and 3) wouldn't even eat them! We have played with it twice now since Christmas and both times we made cupcakes for about 20 minutes and then washed all of the pieces for about 30. Not worth a penny! My kids said they were just going to stick to their easy bake oven.

I thought this toy would be great for my 6 yr old daughter. She has been very disappointed. The first cupcake was a huge blob that tasted worse than it looked. I ended up baking real cupcakes in the oven and letting her frost them, but it only frosted maybe 1/2 the cupcake & you still have to smooth it out with a knife to completely cover. I think we'll stick with the real thing & sprinkles.

This was such a waste of money. My 6 year old wanted this for christmas after seeing it on TV. It was a terrible disappointment. The frosting does NOT come out the way you see it on television. We used it again yesterday and it just does not work properly. Clean up is a pain, filling the frosting into the tube is a pain..terrible product. I would NOT buy this-I wish I had read the reviews before I told my mom to get it for Christmas. Terrible gift.

This was a very cool machine. The only thing is that the cupcake mix tastes like sponge.
If you get a real cupcake mix, I would give this 4 stars. Cool machine! Yucky cupcakes.

My eight year old daughter was initially very excited about the toy, however, after making one cupcake they tasted so bad she was not interested in making any more. The frosting was o.k. but the microwave cupcake was awful. We probably will not use this toy again.

Short and sweet. . . do not buy this toy! Santa brought it for my daughter because it was one of the top toys on her list. I don't know how this one slipped by the elves who are typically known for their fine craftsmanship, but the cupcake maker is complete junk; it doesn't work even a little. Fortunately, my daughter is only 3 and enjoyed "messing" with cupcake decorating even though her new toy failed to live up to our expectations. Save your money. Make your own cupcakes with your kids and decorate with real icing. It is a lot cheaper, tastes better, and is a whole lot more fun.

Purchased this toy for my daughter's 6th b-day. I have 4 kids and none of them were able to consume the prepared cupcakes due to the horrible taste...not even the b-day girl. She was very disappointed. Difficult to use for small hands and icing maker didn't provide the "swirl" look like on TV. Hard to clean as well. Do Not Recommend!

My daughter received this as a gift, and initially we were delighted. The design is adorable, and it comes with everything you need, right down to the cupcake wrappers. Let me tell you, there is nothing worse than a disappointed child's face, especially on her birthday. The cupcakes look gross, and the icing is digusting. It defeats the point of having a fancy icing dispenser if the icing runs out all liquidy, goopy, and gross. It was a HUGE disappointment. I feel bad for the mother who spent the money on it. The only thing I can think of that would fix the problem would be to put real frosting in the icing dispenser. That may be the only thing that works. Otherwise, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!
